Hike to the top of the falls was about a 2 hr and 2500ft ascent. Views of the fall and the valley were great. The last 30-40 mins of the trail did not have any shade.

Lots of switchbacks. You start with a mile of switchbacks, you end with a mile of switchbacks, and there are plenty in between. The "short" 3.6-mile trail is deceiving. It's the elevation change that kicks you in your rear. You're gonna climb about 3,400 feet. But the view at the top of the falls is worth it. One of the most breathtaking vantage points I've ever experienced!

Very steep walk up to the falls. Not dangerous other than possibility of slipping on the rock steps. A lot of sand and gravel on the granite steps can make it a little challenging coming back down. It took us 8 hours counting the time we spent on top. The views are amazing & worth the effort. I am 61 and in fair shape. Took my time and was fine. Lots of switchbacks at decent inclines along the way!

My wife & I consumed 7L of water for the trip. I was able to pull some from the river on top and purify for the way down.

I would not attempt without trekking poles.

Proper footwear as well. I saw folks with crocs on and a 1L bottle of water. Take plenty of water and snacks.

We filled a water bottle for a couple going up. They had a liter between the two of them and made it about half way up. Not sure how they made out.

In the week we hiked everyday and this one was the hardest and most rewarding of them all! Be prepared for this one.

Nice place, just an advice they don’t get cash anymore, so make sure you bring a card with you, the fee is $35 per car

The signal of mobile phone is weak here. You only can call and message. Google map somehow can not load data. I even can find the way back to my home. So download an offline map of this place and your home.

Falls were great and refreshing in the California sun.
