Angela is a pleasant personality, a positive and self-respecting person, from whom emanates a positive attitude, who you want to trust and whose opinion you want to listen to. She is just a great soul you feel like opening up to!

Before there was a Google one either used the phone book or admitted to friends that he or she was thinking of seeing a counselor. Phone book ads couldn’t possibly tell the whole story, and with friends or family there’s the possibility that you get unsolicited advice and unwanted sharing of your quest.

Angie Miller’s website is the “hello” I did not expect. Usually distrustful of the first ad that pops up, I took a chance and clicked it. What I found was a thorough, reasonable, clear and easy-to-follow introduction to a therapist whose essence is accurately portrayed and conveyed.

In person, Angie is warm, direct and extremely empathetic. A great listener who takes thorough notes and remembers important detail, Angie appears in session to be a counselor with not one other client but me.

My problem — divorce after 25 years — is not new or earth-shattering, but Angie received me and my thoughts and feelings with the greatest of care. If I felt stumped or perplexed, her gentle questions led me to places I needed to explore. With Angie, it is a true back and forth discussion, not just “Uh huh, tell me how that made you feel...”

Angie is very well read and offers books, articles and even movie references where appropriate. The book she loaned me, “Coming Apart: Why Relationships End and How to Live Through the Ending of Yours” was instrumental in getting me going through the process, not around it, over it, or otherwise glossing over the real work that needed to be done.

In fewer than a dozen monthly sessions, Angie guided our discussions and employed the tools of her trade with skill, clarity, empathy, joy, all of it. Through this journey, Angie asked only one thing, that when it was time to stop would I please schedule a final session for closure on both sides. That told me a lot about Angie the person as well as Angie the therapist. She is in it for real, heart and soul, and recognizes the process for what it can be; one with a beginning, middle and end.

Angie Miller may not be for every one, but a better place to begin one’s journey of pain, self-discovery and growth I could not imagine.

I can't say enough about Angie - she is such a sweet, kind soul that has the ability makes you feel instantly at ease. I love talking to her, our time flies by so quickly. She listens....and not just to respond, she actually listens. She advises in a gentle manner, not overbearing. Angie is simply brilliant.
