My entire experience with Thrive has been some of the worst I have experienced from a counseling center. In no way did I feel like I was valued as someone that was reaching out for help, but more as an obligation, someone they had to see because I was willing to pay them.

I recently acquired a new work schedule, which was discussed at the end of my last session. So it was no surprise when I let them know in advance that I was not going to be able to make my next appointment. In return, I was charged $100. At no point with any other counseling center was I charged if I needed to reschedule an appointment. I looked on their website and there is nothing listed for any sort of cancellation or missed appointments. Instead, they buried it in the mile-long intake form, hoping you don't see it, which I didn't until I was charged.

I strongly advise seeking a different counseling center, one that actually values you are an individual.

Had an intake with Marissa Schuster. The intake was all of 30 minutes and did not feel very in-depth. At the end of the intake I was told that I would receive a call within two weeks stating whether or not she believed us to have a good patient - therapist relationship. Two weeks later I get an email asking for my phone number even though we’ve already corresponded using my number. We had a two minute phone call where I was told that she did not see us as a good fit because, “I believe your treatment needs a higher level of care than I can provide at this time and it’s not currently in my wheel house.” Then sends me an email of a few other therapist she’d recommend. The first referral was to my prior therapist; who I told her about during our intake. None of the therapist she recommend had any of the qualifications I was seeking when reaching out to Marissa - which was also discussed during the intake.
