Not pleased by Dr. Vinings office staff that has misconstrued insurance coverage his wife the office manager is lacking in professionalism and doesn't know you can't fool older clients. At 65 I know how my insurance works and how to find doctors in my network. Her concerns of clients that showed very clearly her grievances of female clients that from the first day showed. My coverage paid yet they denied my coverage paid. When in fact all bills paid except 3. 1st visit and last 2 visits out of 6 visits. That doesn't make sense. When looking for a therapist I checked this doctor completely out on psychology today he was in network and took my coverage. I have a screen shot to prove it. His office manager should really stop blaming her mistakes on clients or their coverage. I can't get a message to the doctor or reach him. I do not recommend this doctor.

We received a bill over years years after the visit. The bill was for our intake visit. We had a handful of visits after that where we paid our copay every time. We were never made aware about a balance until we randomly received a bill 2 years after the fact.We have always paid our bills on time. I contacted the office multiple times about the bill. I was told the provider requested a copy of their billing and to not worry about the bill. Then I received another bill so I called back and asked to speak to a manager. Each time I was told the manager would call me back. No one ever returned my call. Months later (today) I get an emailed bill. I call the clinic and speak to Mary Vinnings. She was quiet rude and acted like it was completely normal to receive a bill years later. It should be noted we left the practice after less than 10 visits since our original therapist quit without notice and we were randomly assigned to a new therapist. I absolutely would not recommend this clinic.

Do not recommend. Very strange way of doing things. I went to my initial intake appointment where I didn’t even speak to the actual therapist/psychologist but rather the wife who also assists at reception desk. In the last 10 minutes of my session he comes in the room and I essentially have to repeat everything I already told his wife (why I’m seeking therapy, goals, my background, etc). He is very sarcastic and makes jokes about your problems which creates an environment where I felt unsafe to fully express myself, not to mention this is unprofessional. He then emailed me multiple personality and diagnostic tests which took about 30-40 minutes for me to fill out. My next session was spent with him sitting at his laptop scrolling through my results for about 10 minutes, making a very rude joke (I scored on one of his tests as indecisive to which he says “this is a joke, but maybe you need a man to tell you what to do huh” to me…a woman..) then ending my session after that 10 minutes. Then takes me up to the front desk and tells reception to block out time for him to review my test results and he’ll see me next time he’s available after that which happened to be 6 weeks. Very poor use of time, and quite unprofessional. Sad, as this was a time I very much needed professional help and felt very vulnerable. Only giving 2 stars as this is a family run business and I did think the wife was kind, though she is not a licensed therapist from my understanding

Super nice, family owned. My daughter did not want to come. I was mad at me for making her, but she really enjoyed it and was willing to come back.

I do wish appointment call/text reminder were sent . Lost deposits paid for missing appt because I was unaware it was scheduled when her. Dad took her and scheduled for a day Id have her. I was unaware and missed the appt.

Reminders would be super helpful! :). Otherwise; this is perfect for Children; teens, especially.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The billing department is so unorganized and they literally have NO idea what they are doing. The office manager is the most unprofessional, rude, unkind manager I have ever dealt with in my life. She has NO sense of customer service, basically called me a liar during our conversation on the phone over a year ago, and they still have not resolved the issue. I have not been to this practice in OVER THREE YEARS, and are just now threatening to send my bill ($65 😂) to collections I cancelled an appointment is less than FORTY EIGHT hours, which I had absolutely no choice not to due to work. Most places require a 24 hour notice, and I gave over 24 hours notice, so heaven forbid LIFE happens to their THERAPY PATIENTS!! Anyways, over a year goes by and I get a bill in the mail for $65. I had not received a bill all year, so I called to speak to the billing department. They were absolutely NO help, so I asked to speak to the office manager. BIG MISTAKE. She was so incredibly rude, unhelpful, insensitive, and cruel to me. I tried being kind, but after her attitude with me, I basically told her I couldn’t believe she was in the position of office manager due to how unprofessionally she presented herself. I told her I had never received a bill for this amount, and I had not been to the clinic in OVER A YEAR. This is where she practically called me a liar, and said they had sent bills throughout the past year. I have never had this much trouble with a practice, and have never been in this situation before. I personally feel that the office manager has a personal vendetta against me after our conversation. Anyone who is reading this may think I am in the wrong here, and I can’t blame you, I’d probably think the same thing if I wasn’t on the other end of the phone with the office manager that day. All I can do is warn possible future patients NOT to go here because if you ever have any trouble with billing, the office manager is unkind and will offer you NO help.

At first the clinic seemed nice minus there is no public signage out front. The front desk staff are friendly. I was promised if there was any issues with therapy I could talk to someone and be transferred in house to another therapist. 4-5 weeks go by and the therapist wants me to take a bunch of tests that are not relevant to my case plus suggests a study. She never puts in for the study and wastes 6 sessions talking about random things, finally asking me what I want to get out of therapy which I told her on day one. I requested the owner/head therapist contact me because of my concerns. He denied doing so. I requested an appointment with him which he also denied stating I would have to sign a release of information and approved by the other therapist before addressing my concerns with the therapist.

I can’t begin to give them the amount of kudos they truly deserve!! They’re very thorough, they listen and actually care. You can tell they love what they do! I look forward to our visits and I know I’m being properly treated. It’s nice knowing good people do exist for mental health. Not every office is like that! (Cough cough Rivertown, stay away from that place!)

It’s difficult to find a counselor who connects with teenage boys. My grandson had met with several counselors with no success, which was very discouraging. Someone recommended Dr. Vining, so we took a chance. He immediately developed a working relationship with my grandson. His skillful use of humor works well with teens by placing them at ease, which makes it easy for them to discuss their thoughts and feelings. It has taken some time, but my grandson is turning his life around. Dr. Vining has taught him coping skills, and he is not angry and defiant all the time. He is listening to me. Wow! I thought this day would never come. We are so grateful.
