I just took the safe start course with Shoji who is a highly skilled and knowledgeable instructor, it was an awesome and fun experience we learned a lot about gun safety/pistol shooting and I definitely plan on coming back! Highly recommended to anyone who is new and wanting to learn more about firearms.

I just completed a 2 hr Private training session with Shoji. I'm a complete beginner and showed up with new firearms. We covered a lot of ground. I left with a great understanding of how to handle the guns safely, how to clean them, how to load them, how to hold them, how to fire them and beyond. Grip, Stance, mechanics and more. I look forward to working again with Shoji and continue to develop my knowledge and skills.

I have been taking Tac-1 classes with Sensei for three years now, and this is the real deal.

Sensei ensures your fundamentals and technicals of operating a handgun are damn near perfect. Even after three years of taking the same classes, I still learn new things. If you want to be a consistent, composed, disciplined shooter, look nowhere else because your money and TIME will be well-spent with Sensei. Most other classes I have taken do not care how accurate you are. Sensei makes sure that all of his students operate at extremely high levels because the value he has to provide is at a superb level that I can't comprehend.

Sensei is a Veteran Police Fire Arm instructor in southern California if I remember correctly. He does Tac-1 for civilians like you and me.

If you have never handled a firearm before and looking for a class that will teach you in depth the safe way to handle one and the fundamentals of marksmanship, then look no further. The SAFE Start class is an amazing course taught by Shoji who is a phenomenal instructor. His knowledge, experience, patience and passion went beyond my expectations and I will definitely be returning to take the next course to further advance my skills.

Great place to learn for anyone trying to get educated on safe firearm handling and to anyone who wants to become proficient with firearms. I thought I knew a little bit about handguns and how to properly use them. I can definitely say I was humbled, there are so many factors and Shoji covers them step by step. I love that the classes are in depth and he repeats himself a lot to insure you learn what you're suppose to learn in the class. Highly highly recommend to anyone!

Just took this class this past weekend and had a great experience. I've been a shooter for about 20years to this point and thought I was decent but still wanted to sign up for an actual class to improve. Spoke to Shoji on the phone and he said I could skip the safe start course but thought it would still be beneficial to me if I took it, so I did. He was right. I got a lot out of this course. It was good to get corrections in how I thought and how I shot and also the affirmations on the things I was doing right, but the greatest part of what I learned was in the class portion. Shoji is a great teacher and makes the class interactive and fun so even us long time shooters won't get bored. My suggestion, don't skip the basic course even if you think you can. You will come away with more than you think. The price is very affordable and well worth every penny plus some. You will pay more everywhere else for what you get in this class. I am definitely signing up for the advanced courses next month. Thanks Shoji

Tac-1 is an affordable, top notch for firearms training program. Shoji Hattrori is a phenomenally skilled instructor with many, many years experience. I recommend him to beginners and advanced shooters alike. After shooting for many years I was pretty proud of my pistol skills. That is until I took the Pistol-1 (b) course, and Shoji showed me how much work I had to do to reach the level I want to be at.
