I bought a GSP from his line Black Forest German Shorthaired Pointers. Black Forest Brandy is an absolute gem. She is super smart and athletic. We brought her back to Mark for training. Wow, she is incredible. I knew she was going to challenge Mark, because she has a stubborn streak. She completed the training in 2 months. I'm happy to say she is a hunting machine. Follows commands so well and is a natural born hunter. Thanks Mark!

Mark has bred and trained my parents last 3 dogs. I have been hunting for 20 years and these 3 dogs are the best I've ever hunted with! Mark is incredibly talented, responsive and flexible. I highly recommend him and his business!

I met Mark through the Colorado Gun dog Assoc. We were invited to their open house near Byers. I brought my GSP there to be evaluated as he had no formal training but comes from the #3 breeder in the country at the time. He showed natural instincts and per the breeder's agreement I signed, He had to have field trials experience and at least a JH designation to breed him. I signed an agreement with Mark to train him as well as myself to compete in the field trials. Mark stated it would take no more then 3 months to get him ready. I brought my GSP to him for training in the beginning of February. Mark kept telling me that the weather was delaying his training, but did not offer any credit for monthly fees that I had paid. Finally Memorial weekend came up and we wanted our dog for our camping trip over the long weekend and Mark agree to meet us in Monument to make the transfer. Mark stated to call when we get back and it would take about 2 weeks to finish training my GSP and he would take a weekend to train me how to compete him in field trials. I called Mark and emailed him endlessly. After about 3 months, I gave up and knew this would be a lost cause. I paid Start to Finish gun dog training over $1,600 during my dogs stay and now have a very expensive companion dog that I can never breed. Mark stated it would take 3 months at a cost of $400 per month plus providing his food which I agreed to as he came very recommended and was also an accomplished competitor in the same field trials that I hoped to compete in to be able to breed my GSP. I bought this dog from this breeder due to the very accomplished bloodlines and the many championship dogs that they had produced. The breeder will never sell me another one due to the fact that we "squandered" away a champion that definitely had a championship bloodline. My GSP is the most amazing dog I have ever had and I would not replace him nor could I ever replace him. I am not sure why Mark would burn me like he did, but would definitely not recommend his services to any one that wants him to train your dog for you to compete against him or his son. Mark has never reached out to me since this has happened and it's been almost 5 years. This happened in 2013 and I know the Black Forest fire happened in June. I drove by his house several times, once right after the fire. His house did not burn down and there was no reason for him to not respond to my many attempts to contact him. Very disappointed in him and he has cost me a lot of champion stud fees in the process.

We bought our first GSP from Mark. She is the most obedient pup we have ever had. Mark also has gone out of his way to help us train her. I wouldn't buy a dog from anyone else!
