Terrible experience. I don't expect much from a budget roadside hotel but this was particularly awful because there was no heat. If you choose to stay avoid room #8

A short list of issues:
- Toilet had black grime all around the rim.
- Shower fan screeched so loudly we could not use it and so had no light in the bathroom.
- Heater did not work - was told to wait a half hour after which there was no change. We were not offered another room when I asked.
- They only had one extra blanket for the whole hotel so my wife used that and I was forced to sleep under the covers and shiver all night.
- Blanket smelled like an Indian restaurant. I love Indian food but don't want to sleep in it
- Front desk staff didn't seem to care at all when I raised the issue the next morning.
- No breakfast despite being listed on Google.

Update: After reaching out to management to "make it right" based on their google reply, unfortunately no resolution has been found. Having been just passing through, I was clear that a free night was of no value at a non-chain hotel and no refund (full or partial) was offered. It clearly was more important to have a response on google than to actually resolve the issue.

We switched to this hotel after not having a great experience at the motel 6. Chris was super helpful and very kind. The property is small but very well maintained. Rooms were clean and kept up. We will stay here next year when we come back for the aftershock festival in Sacramento.

Classic example of old grimy Hollywood movie hotels (go there before it’s demolished). It was a hot night, when I left I gave the elderly housekeeper guy a tip in the parking lot. He was trying his best.

Amazing husband and wife that run this small hotel and they are some of the most accommodating people I have come across in my many years of working on the road. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfortable, definitely a bargain for the rates they charge and not far from I5 but in a quiet area right near granzellas. Locked myself out of my car and they went above and beyond to help me, I can’t say enough good things about it great location, super clean, and great people.

Stage Stop Inn is a wonderful, family owned, single story motel just a few blocks from the freeway. You can park in front of your room for easy loading and unloading. The rooms are clean and include a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge and hair dryer. Staff is warm and friendly, yet allow for your privacy. I have stayed here once before, about 2 years ago and will continue to stop here on my travels on the I-5 corridor. As an extra bonus, I was delighted to see during my recent visit that they have a large array of solar panels on the roof!

Comfortable, basic room for one or more persons. I stayed solo so I'm not sure about the larger rooms. Soft beds (perhaps too soft if you have a bad back). Comfy room. Overhead fans for good air circulation. The heat/ac unit is a tad noisy. I don't see a way to turn off the fan when the heat is on. Coffee and microwave. Location is excellent. No highway noise but close and convenient to offramp. Chris and Susan, who run (own?) the motel are quiet and cordial. One story motel so you can park right by your room. Hmmm. What else? Be careful not to drop the remote behind the bed. Got it! ?

The kindness of the man who checked us in was amazing. When he saw that I had a cast on my leg he upgraded our room to give me more room to negotiate with my scooter. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Thank you for the great service.
