We rescued a six month old lab mix from an abusive situation two years ago. The first year of our dog’s life, he was always at home with one of us. Little did we know this would lead to extreme separation anxiety. We couldn’t walk out the door for 15 seconds without ourdog howling, and screaming from inside the house. We attempted kenneling with no training and that proved unsuccessful. Thank HEAVENS we found Sit Means Sit training! We purchased the three day intensive with a year of group training and life has never been the same, in the BEST way possible. Within only a few short months, we have been able to successfully leave our extremely anxious dog alone in a kennel at home for over two hours with NO signs of anxiety or stress. Family members have even noticed how much more confident our dog has become! Another key element we have worked through is an excited reaction to dogs. Anytime he saw a dog before we found Sit Means Sit, he would howl and yank and pull on the leash. This was, frankly, embarrassing for us and stressful for him because we would feel so frustrated with him. Now, thanks to group classes and training with Aaron, Frank, and Kyle, Finn is calm on his leash and appropriate when seeing other dogs. We are no longer that family rushing around embarrassed praying we don’t encounter another dog on our walks. We can go to a restaurant with a patio and no longer fear if another dog came by! Our dog is relaxed and focused in on us. Sit Means Sit has been the best thing to happen to not only our dog, but to our entire family! We can’t WAIT to see what these next few months enable our family to accomplish in training!

We adopted a 2-year old mix and were happy at how chill and well behaved he was from the start. But as he grew into our home he started developing some bad habits like jumping. He also started acting protective of us around people on walks.
Sit Means Sit was a great decision. He was a great dog before, but he’s so much easier to handle in crowds now and can go almost anywhere with us.

After numerous searches on Yelp, we came across Sit Means Sit and were impressed with the many 5-star ratings. Let me just first start off with that we re-homed Maui when he was 1.5 years old which meant needing to break bad habits like pulling hard on the leash, being reactive and overly excited, stubbornness, etc. We knew Maui, our 5 year old 94 pound Goldendoodle, had potential to be a more obedient and better version of himself, so we decided to give Sit Means Sit a chance and scheduled a free consultation.

We signed up with them that very day, and we are super happy that we did! In a short span of only two full day dog trainings, we already received many compliments on how well-behaved Maui is, to the point where a few even asked where we got him trained. We’ve hosted get-togethers at our home, and Maui would stay in his “place” for 60+ minutes with no problem.

A special thank you to Kyle and his awesome Sit Means Sit team members for helping Maui, Shawn, and me. We are looking forward to the next few months as he continues his journey to be a Canine Good Citizen and a future therapy dog.

If you are in search of a great dog training program, you’ve found them! Schedule your free consultation with your pup! You won’t regret it!

SMS has been instrumental in helping build up my Daisy’s confidence! But where the training she received really comes to shine is at the vet. Miss Daisy has lots of appointments and procedures, but she is eager and cooperative throughout the entirety of the visit due to the training we have received from SMS. She gets glowing reviews from the vet staff for her ability to follow direction and focus on the task at hand. I am completely grateful for the entire staff and everything that they do!

If I could give 6 out of 5 stars, I would! These trainers are truly doing god’s work. I was so skeptical my dog wouldn’t learn any new tricks since he is 4 years old and extremely hyperactive/distracted but boy was I wrong!! In just three weeks he is a completely well behaved dog. Best decision I ever made.

Sit Means Sit is a wonderful establishment that has helped me learn the fundamentals and confidence to train my dog. When my husband and I first started, our dog seemed to be very stubborn and difficult to train. Frank, Aaron, and Kyle were patient and very helpful with all the training classes and group classes. I love how we are able to schedule extra classes if we feel that our dog needed more guidance. I would 100% recommend Sit Means Sit to people who want to be hands on with their training.

Sit Means Sit has given us the tools we need to enjoy our dog so much more now! We love taking him everywhere with us and it is so nice to be able to reliably count on him listening to us in every situation. We had heard great things about this company, but it was even more exciting to experience it. Sit Means Sit has given us the quality of life with our dog that we never thought was possible!

Putters had a few bad experiences with bigger dogs and turned pretty reactive. I missed being able to bring my buddy along to the beaches, trails, and parks - so we turned to Sit Means Sit. We started in August of 2023 and by December Putters was able to stay on place while I moved furniture into our new apartment. By March 2023 he was able to walk at my side off leash! Our confidence has skyrocketed tremendously and I cannot thank the SGV Sit Means Sit team enough! They're always excited to hear our victories and always available to help.
