Sit Means Sit is amazing! We did the 5 day board and train program with our Raleigh. They truly care about the success of the dogs they train and the group classes are amazing to reenforce the lessons taught during the board. Their methods require the owner to play a vital role in the dogā€™s success, but the results speak for themselves and I couldnā€™t recommend them enough.

This is the best place to get your dog training. This is my second dog here and love it even more. We have done the 5 day board and train with both. My first dog is able to walk off leash almost everywhere now and it has only been a year since he went for training. Very professional and helpful. The trainers are very knowledgeable and helpful with any issues you may have. The group lesson have been so helpful. My trainer for both is Nicole and I highly recommend her. She is so patient and ready to help at any time.

We couldnā€™t be happier with our training experience at Sit Means Sit! Together with our Miniature Poodle ā€˜Elinorā€™ we have worked with Anthony, Nicole, Ed and Deb, and our experience with each has been top notch! We came to training with a very energetic poodle, becoming more and more reactive, horrible to distraction in the car, and so, so fast as to make getting in and out of the car a danger to her safety. But all that is in the past (in only 2 months!). I knew we were in the right place when I came to our training time together at the end of Elinorā€™s first day of day training. She loved and so obviously trusted her trainers, and we were amazed at the transformation. Since that first day we have accomplished all our initial goals, and continue to train in Nicoleā€™s awesome group classes every week, fine tuning and going even further with Elinorā€™s obedience than we imagined. Along the way all the trainers have been available to us by phone and text for any questions that we have; the support received at Sit Means Sit is amazing. Weā€™re looking forward to continuing our training over these winter months in Nicoleā€™s Saturday morning group classes, and highly recommend Sit Means Sit for enhancing life with our beloved dogs!

The Sit Means Sit team was absolutely incredible! The entire experience was seamless, and I truly appreciated them fitting me in right before the holidaysā€”it meant so much. Since bringing Bean home, she has been exceptional. Itā€™s clear that the team dedicated a lot of time and effort to her training, and the results speak for themselves. I now feel completely confident having her off-leash, knowing her recall is solid. I couldnā€™t be happier with the transformation!

We couldnā€™t be happier with the training our dog AND our family has received. We signed our Labrador retriever up for the 5-day board and train when she was a puppy. To celebrate her ā€œgraduatingā€ training we took her to Lazy Dog restaurant. We received so many compliments on how well behaved she was. We recently took her on her first camping trip. What a relief for our family to know we have a trained dog in a new and exciting environment.
The weekly group classes are amazing. It is a testament to see all the different breeds, dog personalities and owners work in collaboration towards a common goal, in a safe environment.
I have included a few pictures from our trip. Our dog knew she couldnā€™t leave our trailer without being told to do so, she met other animals without jumping, barking or whining and she stayed on her ā€œplace boardā€ at the campsite, only getting up when told to do so.
Sit Means Sit has given us the tools and knowledge to have a well trained dog.To say we recommend Sit Means Sit Denver is an understatement. They truly care about you, your family and dog. They have set the bar in dog training. Thank you!!

The community that Nicole and Sit Means Sit have created is something special. My dog Mousse needed training and this was 100% the best choice we could have made. We return every few weeks to the group classes which has been so impactful for his long term training. My daughter has been able to learn alongside me as well!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sit Means Sit Denver! Our one-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Gannicus, is full of love, energy, and a lot of enthusiasmā€”especially when he sees other dogs. Walks used to be a challenge, with constant pulling and his overwhelming excitement to greet every dog we passed. After trying another training program that didnā€™t quite meet our needs, we knew we needed additional help.

At first, I was hesitant about using an e-collar. But after extensive research, talking with trusted friends who use it, and even trying it myself, we decided to give it a shot. From the very first day of the day-drop-off program, we saw noticeable improvement! The care and kindness the team showed, not just to Gannicus but to us as well, blew us away. Iā€™ll admit, I cried that first morning dropping him offā€”it was the first time heā€™d ever been left with anyone outside of close friends and family. But seeing how happy he was and knowing he was in such great hands put my heart at ease.

The team at Sit Means Sit Denver has been everything we could have hoped for and more. They understood we werenā€™t aiming to turn Gannicus into a perfectly regimented working dog. We simply wanted a lovable, well-behaved pet who we could walk without stress, open doors without him bolting, and welcome guests without him barreling toward them at full speed.

The group classes have been a game-changer for us. Gannicus is great at home or in our backyard, but out in the front yard or around other dogs, it used to feel like all his training went out the window. The group classes give us the chance to practice around distractions in a controlled environment, which has been such a confidence boosterā€”not just for Gannicus, but for us as his parents.

Nicole, in particular, has been incredible. Her kindness, patience, and depth of knowledge have made this entire process so much easier. No matter how many questions weā€™ve had (and there have been a lot!), sheā€™s always taken the time to answer them thoughtfully and thoroughly.

Thanks to Sit Means Sit Denver, Gannicus has made amazing progress. For the first time, Iā€™ve been able to walk him at a heel without worrying about his reaction to other dogs. Itā€™s been life-changing. We canā€™t wait to see how much further weā€™ll go in the next six months, but weā€™re already beyond grateful for everything theyā€™ve done for us and our big ball of fluff.

If youā€™re looking for a training program that combines expertise, compassion, and results, look no further than Sit Means Sit Denver. Theyā€™ve truly given us the tools and support to build the best possible life with Gannicus. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

SMSD has been a life changing experience for us.

We rescued a pup (bully mix) during COVID, who was a nervous guy from the start, but limited social opportunities over the first few years of his life exacerbated his anxiety. We moved across the country from DC to Denver, which added to Tuna's fear-based demeanor, and we started to see a lot of fear-based aggressive behavior.

After lots of research, phone interviews, etc. we went to a free consultation at Sit Means Sit and met with Nicole. From the get go, she was extremely direct, but still understood the emotions involved with this process. We were terrified she would tell us we had an aggressive dog on our hands, but after taking him for a quick test run, she said he was a giant "pansy" and incredibly socially awkward and would really benefit from their program.

We opted for the 5 day board and train program and had several conversations with Nicole and Anthony throughout the process. They were (and continue to be) incredibly patient, attentive, considerate, and thoughtful in their communication and care of Tuna.

Our previous dog had been e-collar trained and due to how that organization used the collar, and taught us to use the collar, he was always fearful of it. Given how much of a gigantic baby Tuna is, we were afraid he'd come out of the boarding program a changed dog (more timid and scarred), but the complete opposite was true. Anytime he sees his collar come out, he is ELATED, and that fact alone amplified my trust and comfort in the SMS team.

To this day, we attend group classes, private lessons (all of which are included in the price of the training program), and continue to get attentive care and support from Nicole, Anthony, Ed, and the rest of the trainers. Needless to say, Tuna is a changed dog, and our lives are so much better. Will he ever be the kind of that bravely walks into a loud room or loves the dog park? Probably not. But his confidence has grown exponentially, and more importantly, we have a system through which we can communicate with him, support him, and let him know we're in control of every situation.

I have and will continue to recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone I know who expresses interest in dog training, and any and every dog we rescue in the future will absolutely be put through their board and train program.

Cannot say enough about Anthony and Nicole and the entire operation at SMS Denver. We are forever grateful!

(Photo is of Nicole and Tuna -- and while this might get me in trouble sharing, it's from Thanksgiving last year when we had a dog sitter cancel on us last minute before we headed out of town and she generously offered him to stay at SMS for a night to do a tune-up train, and then even took him home with her to care for him while we were away.)
