Our first time riding the Christmas train and my family and I loved it! Santa came and gave presents to all the kids. Everyone on board received cookies and hot cocoa and a free present. Definitely coming back next year!

My wife and I took the murder mystery dinner in the executive car! Outstanding accommodations and wonderful service! The performers were excellent and very entertaining! We highly recommend it!

I feel bad giving this review but I prefer to be honest. I took my kids here for the christmas train ride. My rating is based on the ride alone. The workers are amazing! Super nice and friendly from the check in to those on the train. It was just a somewhat disappointing experience for the price paid. The train ride was just a quick ride through a town and then you reversed back. Nothing much to see. Norhing entertaining. You get served hot chocolate and a cookie. There's a commissary that offers hot dogs, nachos and cheese and other options to eat/ drink. Then santa and some elves come thru the train and pass out souvenirs. They played some christmas music but it was kind of hard to hear. I would recommend looking at other train rides. I preferred the one at Stone Mountain more than this - more interactive- like the music, TV available to watch, lights and scenes outside to see, and it stopped around the mountain for scenes to watch. I understand it's a different locale but I wished people had of been more honest as to what took place on here. Overall, my kids ages (7&11) and myself were underwhelmed and disappointed.

I'd recommend something more entertaining like them caroling in the different cars.

Great experience, ride,sights, people and fun. Can't wait to do it again! We had two stops in Americus and Plains Georgia(home of former President Jimmy Carter & family). We really enjoyed exploring both towns. Great for kids. Clean.

We took the "Plains Express" as it was the only ride available when we were there. 1st week of November, we stayed in the adjacent Veterans Memorial State Park in our RV (great stay!) A very nice way to spend the day. Very relaxing. We bought the least expensive tickets and it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. Comfortable seats, concession car and bathrooms on board. A low stress way to spend the day.

Love to see that a Short Line Railroad still survives to carry freight during the week and passengers on the weekend and special days.

We made the trip from Cordele on the 4th to Plains for the Plains, Georgia Fireworks Display. A most enjoyable trip.

There was food available on the return trip, simple things like burgers, dogs, chips, etc. Just something to fill the gap for the hungry.

It was a great escape from Atlanta and we really enjoyed our visit.

Riverview Senior Citizens of Oglethorpe, Ga. boarded the Sam Short Line from Cordele, Ga. to Plains, Ga and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Plains, Ga is home to our 39th President of the United States the peanut butter ice cream was a hit. I'm hoping to get a Savannah trip aboard the same train in the near future. Sam Short Line ROCKS HARD!!

It was awesome. All the employees I spoke with were friendly and always ready to help. I would absolutely go again. They have some souvenirs you can buy on the train. Small concession stand also. They also have restrooms on the train. It is a challenge to walk the train while it is moving, but sure is fun!
