Chino is a great instructor and a talented dancer. He has clear years of teaching experience, had lots of patience and understands his craft at the level of detail that few instructors do. I love that he encourages to really learn the basics firmly before progressing to more advanced moves. Things made so much more sense under his guidance in terms of why the balance loss happens and how to become quicker on your feet. I've learned so many moves that it made it easier to adapt to most styles of leading. He also did a great job at following his instincts on when to slow down and when to accelerate his teaching, matching to my learning style in such a way that I was engaged with every lesson, never feeling bored or not challenged enough. He was the reason I was able to skip levels and get placed into an advanced level class, which I so appreciated. So top quality instructor who really knows his craft and clearly teaching it. He's also wonderful with teaching children, which is also quite a rare talent for a dance teacher. Chino has a unique gift for teaching others and I could not recommend him highly enough.

My daughter bought me dance lessons for my 50th birthday. I was a little nervous because I’d always struggled with cumbia style dancing & usually just get lost on the dance floor at family parties. Chino was so friendly, funny & inviting. He was never condescending and has a great sense of humor. He broke the steps down to the very minimal/ basic steps then built on them at our pace. He is brilliant and dances beautifully! I actually want to take more lessons because there so much more he has to offer and I know my daughter & I are going to miss him.

Purchased 6 cumbia lessons as a gift for my mom's birthday. We are 2 out of 6 lessons in and absolutely loving it!! Chino is so knowledgeable, professional, and such a great teacher. He really breaks it down for you and provides you skills for real-world dancing not just professional dancing. I could not recommend him more!!!

5 star instructor! Ive taken cumbia,bachata, salsa, merengue and banda with Chino and he is very meticulous in his lessons: he notices all the details when youre learning how to dance. Group instructors at other places nor Youtube videos cant address to you how to smoothly intiate the turn with your hands, how youre holding them, or to tuck in your elbow. Footwork in his lessons are another. He will teach you to dance on beat and correct the flaws in your spins whether youre taking too big of a step, not raising your hand high enough, or correct you on your force when it comes to the line of push or pull. One on one lessons make a big difference compared to group classes you will not get anywhere the same amount of attention to detail.
