My Life Mentors were born in 1896, 1898, 1900. They lived to be 93, 100, 90 years respectively. I carry their life stories. All retired educators who lived selfless lives to make this World a better place. 1898 was sent to India on assignment to help India alter it's countrywide educational system to be more culturally Indian and less British when they got their independence.
She had a PhD in Educational Philosophy.
I was born about the time they retired. I had 24/7 access to their advice and learning, having lived through 2 world wars and the Great Depression.
Sadly, I received a very paranoid call from this place, that brought me to tears.
We have become such a fearful paranoid country that people can no longer tell friend from. foe.
I put myself out everyday to connect with strangers and have a meaningful exchange of information and experience. I've been harassed for reporting child and spousal. abuse that has saved lives and improved the quality of life for all involved. It's public but private record.
Medford is a Community of mostly good people. I suggest anyone who uses the word mentor to get to know members of the community and cross reference character witnesses of the community before having a nervous breakdown about over simply trying to connect and enlighten and help.
Start with general biofeedback to learn to calm before going on attack and threatening, you might find "it's good to know you gotta friend"

Goodness is appropriate.
How can you mentor anyone otherwise.
