Rocky Mountain Martial Arts is my one stop source for many health benefits. At 70 years old I have now been training in Soo Bahk Do, a Korean martial art, for 8 1/2 years and have never looked back. My weekly training routine keeps me both mentally sharp and physically fit. Training in Soo Bahk Do is an engaging full mind and full body experience and I can take the advancement in my training at my own pace. It is a practice that integrates mental discipline with body knowledge. The improved coordination between mind and body delivers benefits that include improved lower body strength and balance, stamina, and faster upper body reflex time not to mention a weekly regiment in self defense training.
In so doing, I am enhancing my enjoyment of outdoor sports, such as hiking, downhill and cross country skiing.

An amazing place to learn this great art with top notch instructors. The companionships made, stress relieved, and overall balance in life is absolutely awesome! My kids train as well, and are learning respect, discipline, philosophy and tradition from someone other than their parents. A truly well rounded art to enhance your life in all aspects. Soo Bahk Do is truly a well rounded Martial Art which is based in scientific principles and is backed by a rich history and philosophy. At the Basalt school I have found a community of dedicated practitioners lead by Sa Bom Nim Jeff Griggs. As an adult beginner I have found an amazing outlet for my mental and physical creative energies. Apart from raising two young children I have never done anything so difficult and yet so rewarding.
