I would never step foot in this office for a therapist again. Extremely unprofessional. You walk in no front desk person. Generally you think oh they friendly and ask hey you here see someone ? They got a damn ring door bell that no one answer , The therapist I was appointed too never came to the waiting room. After a full 30 minutes I ask a guy works there hey is it normal to wait this long ? He said no and proceeded to check out the therapist see what’s going on Named Dr Vaughn Sweets why this lady is in session with a client and apparently got double booked. She did not bother to come by and tell me anything. Nor did this lady call me to apologize for the unprofessionalism. This is a therapist yall then they wonder why I have trust issue with this type of service in this City. I went in for therapy trying have an hopeful day because I been battling depression and left mad and frustrated by the poor service and careless this place provided me.

I have requested peacefully for them to take down pictures of me from their social media. They have refused and blocked me. I hope they eventually honor my consent.

In a world where science advances rapidly requiring digital content be routinely reviewed for best practices; this is intended to communicate that despite my face and credentials on some content I have no control of their curation despite my best efforts.

I have been a patient of Monique Horton for over a year and I can't put into words what she has done for me.
Monique is the type of therapist that truly cares about her patients and wants the absolute best for them. I was at my lowest point, barely hanging on. Honestly, my children were the only thing keeping me going. It hurt just to be awake.
I've been in and out of therapy since I was 10 years old and struggled to find anyone who understood me and cared to help. That all changed when I found Monique.
I meet with her every week and honestly, I always look forward to seeing her and her glowing smile. She has helped me make so much progress that I thought was impossible before.
Not only is she an amazing therapist, but human being. I can tell her anything and she always listens with no judgement. The amount of love and empathy she has is truly amazing.
I don't usually give reviews on anything but I really felt the need to share my experience. While therapy is a journey and not a sprint, I know she will be there to hold my hand and guide me through my journey. It's incredibly comforting to know I have her and she always has my best interests and happiness at heart.

i filled out a form, no one got back to me. so i called & i was told a councilor would call me within the next 24-48 hours, no one called. this is so upsetting to me because i can understand how hard it can be for someone to reach out, and these types of people are supposed to make you feel better and important. if you don’t like your job and what you signed up for, get a new job. the people reaching out to you need you.

I called to schedule individual therapy, they said they would have someone call me to schedule. A week later, no call. I called them today to see what was going on. The lady was very rude and snippy, she said they had left me two messages and that I hadn't called back and that I requested Kimberly (I don't even know who that is) and that she isn't seeing patients. I told her that I hadn't received any calls or voicemails and that I didn't request anyone, I had just called and said I wanted to schedule an appointment and was told that a Dr. would call me. The woman then rudely said "well we don't have doctors here, we have therapists."..... Given her rude tone and the lack of help I was receiving, that told me the kind of care I was going to get at this office. I told her I would find another office to go to. If they can't hire respectful receptionist, then they must not care much about their patients.

I've known and worked with several clinicians at RLC for years. They care about their clients, provide different specialties, and are owned by caring, compassionate therapists as well. I refer clients to them that don't match my current office, as they are a trusted resource here in Wichita.

Valerie Fargas’ review below is similar to my recent experience. My partner and I had a counselor who was an absolutely amazing guy. Sessions with him changed our lives. He sat down, got to know us, helped us know ourselves and helped us see one another on a level we didn’t know existed. He was nothing short of brilliant. However, we made the mistake of taking a break from counseling and, months later, seeing different counselor at the same establishment. Given her description, I believe Valerie and I saw the same counselor. The three sessions I attended were really an assault on me, as a human being. It was shockingly obvious she didn’t want to get to know me. What’s really odd is she formed an idea of who I was before I even said anything. She made wild assumptions and accusations from the start. She didn’t counsel at all. Instead, she judged and shamed, which was the opposite of what a professional counselor should do. She interrogated me for missing a session when I had to take my cat, who was suffering from a fever, to the vet. She did a great deal of baseless and wildly inaccurate finger pointing. When I would take exception to her judgments, she would cut me off, belittle me and accused me of being aggressive - just like she did to Valerie. She had me talk about things that happened years ago, which had been expertly dealt with by our previous counselor, and argued with me for 10 full minutes simply because I said I felt bad talking about things so far in the past that my partner and I had worked though. She said, “I don’t counsel feelings.” Then, she began to shake in her seat as if a surge of adrenaline were rampaging through her body. It was beyond bizarre. With zero provocation, near the middle of our last session, she smirked at me three times in a row like a taunting little boy when she was asking my partner an uncomfortable question. She wanted me to co-sign on her accusations against my character. When I told her the snap judgements she was making weren’t accurate and pleaded she get to know who I was, she dropped my jaw by saying, “Well, you obviously lack accountability, and that means your mother lacked accountability, too.” My mother, who she knew died two years ago, raised children that didn’t even share her blood. She and my father worked themselves crazy putting their kids in good schools. Anytime we had an argument and she realized she was wrong, she would wrap her arms around me with tears streaming down her big cheeks and ask for forgiveness. It broke my heart that this woman was dragging the memory of such a great person who isn’t around to defend herself. She didn’t respond by saying, “Oh. Maybe I got that wrong.” She double down in her judgement of me an my dead mother. Then, she went in on my dad, who’s just a lovable nerd. It was such an awful experience that I just got up and left in the middle of the session. I feel awful writing this review because I feel Real Life Counseling is a great, safe & caring place, which gave me priceless insight into myself, my partner and the world. I hope the staff know this review is not about the establishment as a whole. This review is isolated to this counselor. If you’re going to sit in judgement of your subjects, at the very least, make your judgments accurate. Get to know your subjects. Stop forcing people to fit daytime soap opera archetypes. When people say your assessment isn’t accurate, don’t project your feelings of aggression for being off the mark by accusing the person of being aggressive. Stop using your style of counseling as an excuse for flagrantly bad counseling. Do far less talking & finger pointing and do more listening. Then, you can help and guide the people you see. You have to do better. Until then, you’re doing harm to your subjects & reflecting badly on Real Life Counseling. The place doesn’t deserves to be rated lowly for due to one counselors, though. I wouldn’t be where I am without the counselor I had initially. He should be writing books. I will always be grateful.

This is a great therapist office. All of the staff is super friendly and compassionate. The therapist that helps my son has completely changed his life for the better. Couldn't ask for a better therapist or a better facility!
