I just drove here from Twain harte to run a little bit around and just do the loop, about 4 miles, and it was definitely worth it.
July 28th, and the amount of wildflowers was incredible. From the parking lot I headed straight up, I immediately went off course, typical for me not having patience and wanting to keep running 🤣
The trail just goes completely straight up and in between some of the rocky structures. It was so steep that I was grabbing onto rocks to pull myself up and keep from sliding back. But once I got to the top I was able to run along the trail... somewhat along a ridge that slowly looked around and back to the parking lot.
I noticed the elevation had a definite effect, i actually felt light headed.
Check out the photos and the beautiful flowers.
I also had to go across patches of snow.
Everything was so beautiful!

Took my motorcycle out to meet a friend and hike, the road is very fun on a motorcycle. The scenery is great and everyone we encountered were very friendly.

Well my excitement for making it to the Sonora summit was a little dampened when I realized I was a little off course. LOL. But, hiking is always an adventure, and being on the PCT for the first time was emotional. I recommend to anyone feeling like your love of nature is unnatural, go explore part of the PCT and put your feet in the same dirt of the others just like us, who find magic in the mountains. Instead of taking the trail South, over the mountains I had sled down a month earlier, on this afternoon in early July, I headed North towards Wolf Creek Lake. After making it to my false peak (with pics to prove it;) I worked my way around the mountain for a couple miles, and even spotted the Wolf Creek lake below. This was a beautiful valley, and vastness cured my city blues on Tuesday.

Parking is limited. Beautiful views of the Sierras in all directions. Overnight parking first come first serve. They have pit toilets that are locked most of the time.

Beautiful views, but the really wouldn't recommend taking a trailer over this. The eastern side has grades up to 26%. The western side is not as steep, but I was still in 1st going 18 mph
