David was very professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to clearly explain his findings and recommendations from the on-site inspection of our large monterey cypress with storm damage. He kindly took a look at the other trees in the yard and made recommendations for those as well. He seems to enjoy the work and was easy to talk with. I don't hesitate to recommend him.

I hired David and Nolina to handle the end-to-end permitting process to remove a 130’ redwood tree sitting less than 5 ft away from the foundation of our house and doing all sorts of damage. The city of Los Altos is notoriously protective of its trees and, to make matters worse, the approval of our neighbors was required because the tree was adjacent to the property line… and they liked that tree…

It was a lengthy process but Nolina spent a great deal of time talking to the city arborist to understand removal requirements. In the meantime, David lent his expertise to explain to our neighbors why it was in their interest to have the tree removed, and worked with them to identify adequate replacement trees.

Nolina produced an arborist report and replacement plan, which against all logic didn’t meet the city requirements. She spent more time trying to convince the planning department and explored other avenues to convince them, to no avail - Ultimately, a structural engineer report evidencing damage to the house tipped the scale in our favor

I tried a number of arborists before - none of them came close. I simply couldn’t have done it without David and Nolina. They are knowledgeable, creative and display impeccable work ethics.
