If you acclimated to altitude, not that tough. Marked trail. Save energy for last push @3800m. Unstable boulders and waist high stone steps. Gasping for air every 10 steps. Bam. You're at summit. 360 panorama. All mountains are below you. Wind picked up again and it got cold fast! 4hr.

Bring thick sole boots, hiking poles, fleece, jacket, energy bars and 3L+. Go slow to avoid altitude sickness.

Awesome solo climb end of May. Lot's of snow, but the weather was great. I started at 7 am, so the snow was still firm. NOTE: I entered the park from the west before 7 am, there was nobody at the booth. Parked before the east entrance. Went back, nobody asked a ticket. Try it next time!

September 22 last day of summer 2019, hiking in mount Dana out of Yosemite right by Tiago.
Up to the top of mount Dana is (13,061 feet) above sea level, I started at 9,923, 7 miles RT
My body couldn’t handle that high, air a lot thinner, i didn’t have enough clothes ( should dress up like December)
It’s so cold up there, only 29 degrees, very windy, my head hurting so much, when I was trying to hike up a little bit more.
It’s 3.5 miles each way I make to 3 miles up, I saw the top of the mount Dana, I’m very close, but I’m feeling sick, my head hurts, couldn’t see well, have no air breathing, the air lot thinner up high,
(People’s on the trail told me after 3 miles depend on your body)
I have to hiking back down
When hiked down that when my head hurts, hurt a lot a lot a lot never happens like that before even when I’m in the sea level, I throw up,
I thought I couldn’t make it out,
the view is pretty,amazing, incredible,phenomenal
If I get up to the top I will see Mono lake from the top,( salt water lake)
Too bad( oh... well)
It wasn’t easy hike for me at all, but I love it, I’m glad it this
I don’t know I will come back to this hike again or NOT
Back to Mount Dana again (11/3/2019)
Made it... I made it

I hiked to the summit about 10 years ago & it's a very hard hike if you're not in shape! It's beautiful & full of streams, flowers, but also slippery shale rock. I lost a toenail due to that hike & my friend accidentally kicking it after as the clincher. It's wonderful but bring lots of water, electrolights, carbs, protein & vitamins 😊

One of the best peaks I've ever climbed. The trail is very easily accessible, right off the main road. It starts out in beautiful forests down lower, then moves to gorgeous alpine meadows, then the remainder of the hike is a grueling yet rewarding slog up the imposing talus heap that is Dana. Views along the hike are incredible, and views from the summit are among the best I've seen. For some reason there are two USGS benchmarks on the summit, no idea why. Overall an amazing hike, I would highly recommend it.

This peak is crowded, but the view from the top is amazing if you love vistas of the Eastern Sierra. The trial is easy to follow once you get on it, and the whole experience quite easy if you are acclimatised and have good weather.
