Mental Health Center of San Diego helped and saved my life. My quality of life is improved because of the program and people. I would have not been able to function in the real world without them. They are people who really care, and want to change people lives for the better. I know they changed mine for the better. Mental Health of San Diego helped me while my mother was dying of cancer, and the resources they gave me made me understand that it was okay to grieve, and how it looks different for everyone. The people at Mental Health of San Diego changes lives for the better, and I am one of many who can attest to that.

The staff are friendly, warm and engaged in wanting to support you to focus on a program of wellness. Depending on your situation - you don’t typically enter this program in the beginning feeling very well at all. In those first few days, you can expect to experience compassion, caring, and the support needed to feel safe in a program where healing is possible.

After the program ends, continued care in the Aftercare Community Program keeps you engaged!!

I checked out the Mental Health Centers of San Diego for an event we’re planning, and it’s such a great space. It’s modern, spacious, and in an awesome location near the beach. There’s some parking on-site and plenty of street parking nearby, which is super convenient.

What stood out to me was how well the space is set up. There are two bathrooms (one is gender-neutral), and they have an extra side room that’ll be perfect for any low-key activities while we have a DJ in the main area.

The staff has been really nice and accommodating, and I’m excited to see how the event comes together here. Definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a solid event space in San Diego!

After 13 years in and out of treatment, MHC was finally the program that saved my life. I went through Residential, PHP and IOP with them and I had nothing but great experiences. The staff were kind and caring, the therapists were extremely professional and knew what they were talking about, which is rare for a treatment center. Ryan, the owner, is awesome and really does this from the heart. This place is not about the money, but about helping people. I would 100% recommend MHC SD to anyone I know!

I went to the Halloween party there recently and was so impressed with the hosts, vibe, safe environment, and welcoming atmosphere for us LGBTQIA+ folks. Lovely program in a lovely part of town. Quickly growing, friendly staff, good sense of community, and a fair variety of material discussed in group therapy (these groups rotate throughout the day/week). You are sure to make friends with some of the staff and clients. Snacks and beverages are provided, and weekly appointments with personal therapists, psychiatrists, and case managers are included. Here they offer both residential and outpatient programs (I was outpatient).You will be drug tested three times a week, and you are not allowed to use your phone.

I can’t say enough good things about this mental health facility. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for and supported. Jennifer, my therapist, was nothing short of incredible. I’ve seen countless therapists before, but I never felt truly comfortable opening up until I met her. Jennifer was so supportive and comforting during some of the hardest moments in my life. She’s incredibly responsible, insightful, and you can feel how deeply she cares about her clients. Her dedication to helping people shines through in everything she does. I can't recommend Jennifer highly enough. From my first session, I felt truly heard and supported. Jennifer has an incredible ability to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing anything on mind. She listens with genuine empathy and offers insightful, practical guidance that has helped me gain new perspectives on my challenges. Jennifer provides me with tools I can use in my everyday life to manage stress and navigate difficult situations. I’ve made so much progress since starting therapy with her and I genuinely look forward to each session. If you’re looking for a compassionate and skilled therapist who truly cares, I highly recommend Jenn.

Jay, one of the BHTs, was incredibly patient and caring, along with compassionate. She always took the time to listen and provide support whenever I needed it. Mimsy, another BHT, brought such a positive and calming energy to the room. Her sense of humor was a bonus that brightened my day and made me feel so comfortable. Mimsy and Jay genuinely cares about their clients, and it shows in their actions.

EJ was a constant source of encouragement and was always so uplifting. She had a way of making you feel like you could get through anything. Mike, the case manager, added a touch of humor that made the process much lighter, and his caring nature made a real difference. Provech was also amazing—his knowledge about addiction was evident, and his caring approach made me feel understood and supported.

This team is truly something special, and I’m so grateful for each of them. They go above and beyond, and they all genuinely care about their clients’ well-being. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
