I spoke with Charles "Chuck" two times and he lead me to believe that he was going to help me file taxes on behalf of my little girl's father that passed away. He never followed up and actually sent me a contract. I called the company again and requested anyone else that might be able to help me, that referred me to John somebody, who also never followed up with me. Pretty disgusted with this company and the lack of follow through. If you're unwilling to help someone, be honest with them upfront.

*Follow up to the above review. Chuck contacted me after I posted this review, apologizing, citing "medical conditions", and promising to contact me on Monday or Tuesday. I said Tuesday would work great. I waited all day for the call... it never came. In no way do I recommend this company.

Casey Lynch with Frederick Zinc & Associates has been preparing our tax returns for several years now. I am happy for the peace of mind to know they are always accurate and on time. Casey is so patient and easy to work with and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand.

We used them for our personal and business tax prep for several years. The first year was fine, nothing special. Second year we had some issues with how things were showing up in our QB account. Their specialist led us on a wild goose chase for 6 months of how to fix it, when the solution ended up being what I asked them If I could do to fix it in the first meeting. We then got charged for all those hours they spent not fixing our problem when we were invoiced. The year after that, the issue was still present (so they never ended up actually helping fix anything in the first place) I ended up doing all the work myself again because I wasn't about to get charged for 10 hours of their work when they didn't end up doing anything to help. Despite making things right myself, I submitted everything to them within their deadline window and several weeks later I get a call at 5:45 pm THE DAY our business taxes needed to be filed from someone telling me they FORGOT to file our business taxes until that afternoon and needed me to sign documents so they could submit on time. I was on my way out the door to meet my family for dinner, and needless to say was very upset that I was getting this call at 5:45 pm the day things were supposed to be submitted for my business. On top of that they still had the nerve to charge us full price.

I don't like giving poor reviews for local businesses, but the service we received was just too disappointing and I feel others need to be aware. Overall they seem to prepare everything correctly, but you absolutely don't get what you pay for. In them end between our business and personal taxes we were charged $1300 even though they almost forgot to submit them by the IRS deadline. Maybe their service is better for larger customers that they can charge even more, but for little guys like us, the service is less than the bare minimum I would expect. I'm better off doing it myself from now on, because at least I know I wont have to worry about my taxes being submitted on time.

As another reviewer stated, I like to support local business and take no pleasure in leaving a negative review, but my experience with this business was so awful I felt some sort of warning should be given. We experienced repeated, unacceptable delays in our return being prepared and filed which, coupled with a lack of understanding about a fundamental aspect of the tax code, resulted in five-figure penalties we now owe the IRS. Because our accountant didn't understand the portion of the tax code that resulted in the penalties, he told us he thought they were incorrect. In speaking with the IRS and another accountant, we learned the penalties were in fact correct. These were penalties that would not have been incurred if our accountant had understood the tax code. Once we learned this and sent an email explaining the situation to our accountant, we were ignored. We sent email after email after email. No call-back, no email, nothing. Interestingly enough, we did receive one phone call back from someone on their staff -- regarding their $5000 invoice, which we paid. Hugely frustrating experience. On the advice our new accountant, we will be filing a professional complaint as well as litigation.
