After the frustration and struggle of 'finding my kind of therapist journey' I started asking friends I trusted who they suggested. Thats when I was eagerly directed to Mayfield Counseling from a close friend who ranted and raved about this place. I'm very excited that they were right, it has been a wonderful place for my family and me to come to. Their expertise and professionalism has helped me personally with my traumas and struggles. I've been very impressed by multiple of their therapists. Would highly recommend.

Discussed a need for consistency for our child out of the gate at the consult. This was specifically why we left our previous practice. The therapist we werebassigned to agreed.

Our high conflict parenting situation was discussed as well.

Our therapist did not have the professional experience to handle the situation and our child suffered as a consequence.

Improvement is needed in professional communication and proper resources for families.

Now my 6 yr old is without proper support and has to navigate another difficult change in an already overwhelming year for her.

If I could rate this place with 0 stars, I would. Our first marriage counseling, we showed up to the address that was provided in the reminder text. We sat in the waiting room for well over 15 minutes with many of the staff seeing us sitting there for awhile with none of them asking us if we needed assistance. Then after 15 minutes we finally knocked on the window of the office only to be told we were at the wrong office for our counselor, Aimee. The staff at the original office was at least courteous enough to apologize for the confusion and let us know our counselors office was only a few minutes down the road. We arrived and Aimee was IMMEDIATELY rude letting us know how upset she was that we were late because she had plans after our session for her sons graduation. I would understand her frustration if we were actually late but we were initially 10 minutes early to the address provided in the text message reminder. With us being a very fragile broken married couple we decided to still proceed. We both were very guarded accounting our first interaction and past life trauma we both individually have experienced. After the session we scheduled 1 on 1s and it only got worse from there. She first saw my husband yesterday morning and told him I came in the initial meeting ā€œhot and disrespectfulā€ even though she was the one who was extremely disrespectful since we were ā€œlateā€. She was overly sympathetic to him and overly nice and he came home warning me about his experience and her expressions towards me. Even when he was tell her his faults in our marriage she validated him due to ā€œbeing in the military and thatā€™s just the environmentā€. He even admitted he wanted/needed her to tell him he was wrong for the things he did. I went in this morning with still an open mind and smiling face at 8 am. She greeted me with no smile and a very not soft ā€œgood morningā€ back. She gave my husband paperwork yesterday that he brought home to the understanding he was suppose to fill out with MY information. When I brought the paperwork back she was EXTREMELY disrespectful and talked down on me like a child as if I was there when she handed him the paperwork. He was supposedly suppose to fill it out with his information. Regardless, I texted my husband ā€œIā€™m about to leave, she is already being extremely rude and itā€™s barely been 1 minute since walking through her door.ā€ Even though he responded with ā€œjust leave then, I want us both to be comfortable throughout this processā€ I decided to push through. She then would ask me questions and would judge every answer I would give EVEN if it was how I FELT about MY marriage that she knows so little about given itā€™s the second time Iā€™ve seen her. She even had the nerve to tell me during our session and me crying about a circumstance, she knew plenty of military wifeā€™s who still had a full time job and was a Mom. She is completely disrespectful and will make you leaving her office feeling worse than you originally felt walking-in. Iā€™m glad my husband went with gut and came home to warn me yesterday so I knew it wasnā€™t just me being guarded today. I would NEVER recommend this place or Aimee.
