I have been a patient of LifeStance for a few years now. I have been extremely happy with their service. My doctor's have all been such a great fit for me as a person and what I was going through. Only one doctor I found not to be a good fit and right away they corrected that and found me someone better. The front desk and everyone who is on the other end of the line has been professional,kind, patient and diligent.
I would and have recommended friends and family to LifeStance.

Lifestance has been an accessible and life-saving place for me for many years. The office is always clean & tidy, the staff are exceptionally lovely to work with in person & on the phone, and my provider is fantastic. This place utilizes a very helpful & accessible online portal to manage appointments, check-ins, payments, etc. Currently they offer video appointments as well, which is really nice.

The way Lifestance is run is horrible. Communication is not a priority. But, my Doctor is wonderful. I may still change Doctors though so I don't have to interact with Lifestance. Last week I was on hold for an hour twice!!! I left messages and no one called me back! On my third try I did find someone that tried to be helpful. BUT I still don't have answers about why they billed the wrong insurance carrier which got rejected and now are sending me the invoice. Lifestance has my correct info but keeps making mistakes.

Lifestance Health in Santa Barbara California has helped me immensely. Dr. Danielle Lopez has been an impeccable anecdote to my overall health and mental/emotional balance. She actively listened to my condition as I described it to her and the test questionnaires LifeStance required were comprehensive and thorough. The only drawback was the Telehealth appointment process and all of the online hoops I had to jump through to finally get to the waiting room. But the doctor called on the phone when the Telehealth procedure dropped out or logged me out so good on Dr. Daniell Lopez. She’s a lifesaver!

I've never written a review in my life but I felt it was my duty to warn people. I'd like to start this by saying one of the therapists I worked with was absolutely fantastic and I hope she never steps on any legos and her pillow is always cool. I have struggled with the fact that I am dually insured and I have had to deal with a lot of doctor's offices and make a ton of phone calls, my secondary insurance will not pay until my primary insurance denies the claim which has not been an issue getting this fixed. But with this group, god, no other healthcare group's billing team has made me cry before. I got off the phone after being threatened with being sent to collections and just sobbed. A $5000 bill randomly appeared in my account after I had already left the state I received care in for 6 months. I was notified then that my insurance had not paid a cent, I received therapy from this group for nearly 2 years and I know they were fully aware that my insurance company wasn't paying but never notified me because they will get a lot more money from people who pay out of pocket. When I originally called them they said they were working with my insurance company to get this resolved and I asked several times what I needed to do and was told that there was nothing for me to do right now. That seemed wrong so I called my insurance company and they told me that I had to get a letter of denial. So I called Lifestance billing and told them what needed to happen and they said they couldn't bill my primary insurance because they were out of network so I asked them to send me the paperwork to forward to Kaiser. I sent everything into Kaiser (my primary insurance) and I called Lifestance to inform them of Kaiser's timeline for replying to claims. After I had put in all this work (despite them telling me I didn't need to do anything) they informed me I would likely be sent to collections soon, absolutely baffling. They let me know that they send accounts to collections based on the date of service not based on when they send the bill and tried to convince me to get on a payment plan knowing that if I began to pay my insurance would likely not pay even if I got a letter of denial from my primary insurance company. I've gotten nothing but snarky phone calls, passive aggressive emails, and an overall feeling of disdain since I have tried to work with them to resolve this issue. I have made so many phone calls and sent so many emails and I'm just tired. I've gotten $1000 randomly resolved, and only found out by constantly checking my account. I can't believe a mental health company has caused me so many emotional breakdowns. So if you are looking for therapy LOOK ELSEWHERE because these people will bleed you dry.

The service is great. The new platform that they redid is a lot easier to use online. I like how they’re improving the service. I like my psychiatrist. I feel a lot better since I’ve started using them.

Reviews says it all, she’ll take your insurance information and charge you after hanging up the call early, she doesn’t prescribe meds, and is the most unprofessional medical person I’ve ever witnessed, my girlfriend is in tears right now after that call she had with her. She talked down to my gf and made her feel like a drug addict for just simply trying to get her meds refilled for adhd and anxiety… we came from Oregon and she was on these meds for a year and when she transferred to ucsb she needed a refill so she waited for this appointment for a week, just to be talked down too and shut down 6 minutes into the call, Sofia actually hung up on her and still charged. After reading reviews they have a F rating on better business bureau and 1.2 stars on regular reviews. All the reviews state the same thing she’s unprofessional and mean and should have her license revoked because quite frankly it seems like she only takes these online appointments to hang up early and still charge. It’s basically a legal scam that ends with the patient in tears.
STAY AWAY FROM SOFIA M. ENCARNACION AND ANY PRACTICE SHES ASSOCIATED WITH. Read the reviews yourself she’s a dinosaur and doesn’t know modern psychiatry, she’s stuck in the 80s.
