This is a beautiful campground! Very Clean well kept park! The views are stunning! We will be back!|We were only able to stay 1 night and it was our first time to visit. We had just visted Jimmy ands Roslyn in Plains and were working our way back to I-75. This is one of the niceest state parks we have visited. Great hook-ups and easy to pull our camper.

Great stay. Great stocked kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Very clean house. We all enjoyed our stay. The weather was very cold so we didn’t get out a lot. We put together 2 puzzles (left those for the next guest). We enjoyed looking out at the water too. Beautiful view!

The golf course had a really fun layout and was in great shape. Only reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because the greens need some work. They are playable, but patchy, so don’t expect your ball to roll true. Staff was very friendly. Price was fair (GolfNow deal/$35 ea). Would play again for around that price, wouldn’t mind paying more if the greens were better.

We have stayed several times. This is a state park about 10 miles West of I 75. Located in Veterans State Park. They offer 10, 2 bedroom cottages on the lake. Other amenities include: full marina, archery, golf course, disc golf, hiking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, camping and a museum.|The cottages are very comfortable and have a screened porch and wood burning fireplace. Outdoors a charcoal grill and picnic table under massive shade trees. Beautiful setting. Peaceful place to unwind.

We evacuated from hurricane Milton. We had called several other campgrounds that were full. They were able to get us a spot and offered us dry docking when we wanted to extend our stay stating they wouldn’t kick us out. They offered full use of bath houses and laundry for free. Fortunately a spot became available on the lake and we had an amazing site. The camp hosts were the best we have ever experienced. So friendly. They really went above and beyond!! Lake Blackshear has always been one of my favorite campgrounds in Georgia but they really out did themselves this trip. Best unscheduled visit ever. Hoping not to have to evacuate anytime soon again, but if we do…..

My family and I camped at Georgia Veterans Park which is one of the many accommodations at the Lake Blackshear Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We took advantage of the many amenities and visited the Military Museum, had fun doing the 3D BB Gun range, enjoyed the beach and they even had a Kona Ice truck there which my kids were pretty excited about of course. We also took an excursion on the SAM Shortline Train (the only rolling state park in GA) to Plains, GA for the “Plains, Trains, and Fireworks” early 4th of July celebration. The train actually boards at Lake Blackshear Resort. We unfortunately didn’t get to try the restaurant that was open, water vehicle rentals, hiking trails and so much more as we just didn’t have time. We stayed for a weekend, but I highly recommend this resort! It is absolutely stunning with spanish moss laden trees! The staff was incredibly sweet and the grounds/amenities are well kept!

We had a great time. We rented two cabins. They were adequate in size, and met my families’ needs. We struggled with one bathroom, but there are restrooms fairly close by if there is an emergency. We had our four adult children and six grandchildren. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina, purchased fishing licenses and enjoyed a day on the Lake swimming and fishing. We rented golf carts to entertain the older kids in the afternoon. There are lots of other activities for all ages.

The park is beautiful and the lake is great, but the resort has ten cottages and no other accommodation . The lodge and villas have been demolished and the only restaurant is Cypress Grill at the marina, but it is only open on weekends. We rented two cottages, both well located and spacious, however, both kitchens were poorly equipped and the furniture was shabby and dirty. There weren’t |sufficient dishes and silverware for four people in either house and only one had a skillet, and it was filthy. We rented a beautiful pontoon boat at the marina and had a lovely two hour ride on the lake. |For one of Georgia’s most popular state parks, a better lodging management company should be found.
