We are incredibly pleased with our son’s experience at Kudos. He started in the debate team at age 11 with level one, and quickly advanced to the Congress debate team. Under the passionate and dedicated coaching of his teacher, he has not only developed a deep enthusiasm for Congress debate but has also grown significantly in his skills and confidence.

What stands out to us is how much he learns from both his teacher and his fellow students. The environment fosters collaboration, with students helping each other prepare for tournaments and working together as a team. It’s been amazing to see him take on leadership roles, helping new team members—showing a maturity that has surprised us.

Our son thoroughly enjoys all the debate tournaments, takes them seriously, and learns valuable lessons each time, consistently improving. Kudos has been instrumental in his growth, both as a debater and as a young individual.

Through Kudos College of Youth Leadership’s debate program, I gained valuable research, analytical, and public speaking skills that prepared me for college and beyond.

At Kudos, I learned how to thoroughly examine where I was getting my information from. As all debate students build their own cases from their own research, it was important to make sure I could find information from reliable sources. I benefited greatly from this skill in high school and college, as it was that skill that allowed me to rapidly parse information and sort between fact and fiction. Because of Kudos, many of my college and graduate school research papers were well-informed and on time.

My debate experience at Kudos also improved my analytical skills. Performing well in debate rounds necessitated taking in a large volume of information and exploiting openings in an opponent’s case, all with just a couple minutes of preparation time between speeches. Through Kudos’ classes, I understood how to consume, summarize, and utilize large amounts of data. It was this very skill that allowed me to become successful at college and internships at the White House and United States Senate.

Finally, I became a capable and confident public speaker thanks to Kudos. Kudos taught me how to clearly present a viewpoint, back it up with facts and logic, and thoroughly refute opposing claims. I can converse coherently with those around me in a professional and courteous manner, which is a skill that has propelled me to success in both the classroom and at the workplace.

Kudos College of Youth Leadership taught me valuable life skills, and I’m proud to say that I’m an alumni of Kudos!
