I’ve been attending KNMA San Fernando for about two years now, and Mr. Lopez has been more than just a respectable instructor to me, but also a caring & wise mentor. He can be extremely perceptive of one’s character and skill set, which makes classes with him feel of high-quality and so training feels personalized. In this studio, be prepared to be both challenged and humbled!
I love how classes have the nice balance of being traditionally rigorous yet light-hearted and fun. The curriculum is ripe with decades of structure and instruction. All of the black belts here are seasoned and supportive, and the culture amongst the students shows great camaraderie. This little studio is a hidden gem (literally within a church), and I would recommend it to anyone of any experience and background from young children to elderly folks. Definitely worth the investment!!

Such a great place for kids to learn. Both of my boys are signed up here and they LOVE IT! Mr Lopez takes the time to help perfect the skills of each student. If you're thinking about it, it's 100% worth it.

So thankful for Mr. Lopez and the way he teaches. He is so patient, understanding, focused and he is dedicated to his students. My daughter has really taken a liking to karate. She is not only learning self defense, but also confidence, respect and discipline. I highly recommend this studio!

Weve had experience with two martial art locations prior to Ken Nagayama studio in San Fernando and its the best experience with martial arts so far. Instructors are focused, respectful and caring. My son has learned so much and he truly enjoys attending this karate class.
