There will be those who think writing a review for a family member is taking advantage of the system but regardless, if I didn't share what I know and my experiences for all to see, it would be a shame.
Let me start by telling you I am still very fond of the first slogan used here. "Giving your child a leg up on life". The mission of Jacobs Ladder was to improve the lives of all who came here through therapy with horses and I have seen too many examples to tell of how this has been accomplished. The center has evolved through the years and not only works with youth but even adults in need whether physical or mental to ensure they're able to impact as many lives as possible. As others have said in their reviews, the staff, horses, facility, and owners are all simply amazing. What Glenn and Leslie Jacobs have done with the center as a Non-profit organization is just impressive. The time, hard work, and selflessness they've shown the community around them is why they're able to continue their work.
Whether you're in South Georgia and want to volunteer, have a family member who would benefit from equine therapy, or would just like to get involved financially to help their work continue, PLEASE reach out to the team at Jacobs Ladder.

I've been riding here for 7 years. This is a no cursing, no smoking, no drinking zone, and volunteers aren't allowed to wear revealing clothing. The staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and careful. They know how to talk to and treat children with physical as well as mental disabilities. The horses are wonderful. They are gentle, relaxed, well-behaved, and are very good at taking care of their riders. You can switch horses until you find one that works the best for you. If you go long enough or learn quickly enough, you can go from a beginner to an advanced rider. So that means you or your child can really excel in your/their horse riding abilities there. Saturdays are their busiest days and you won't have much time to do much else besides give the horse you or your kid rides a treat before it's time for the next rider, but I haven't been to riding on Saturdays in about 6 years, so I'm not sure about how much time you get to spend with the horses NOW. Lessons are also available on Tuesday evenings and on Fridays. I go on Friday. It's not as busy on Tuesdays and Fridays, so you usually get to spend a lot more time with the horse you ride, like I do, as well as the other horses. You can stay around until it's feeding time even, or at least they are okay with me doing it. I don't think there's much else to say about it, so this concludes my review.

Leslie (Director of Jacobs Ladder) words cannot convey how grateful I am for the time you have brought me in last summer 2022 to begin my PATH Intl. CTRI training.
Jacobs riding center is the most phenomenal PATH certified centers I’ve had the opportunity to work along side with.
Jacobs Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center will not just throw a rider on any horse to accommodate the lesson. They diligently plan their lessons based on the participants needs. This includes choosing the best fit Equine, Tack, and Activities to provide the most benefit to each participant. As a future PATH- CTRI, I admire how Jacob’s riding center not only looks after their riders/participants, volunteers but also the Equine health. This is underestimated as some centers will continue to work their horses while they are sick because they do not have any other horses to use for the lessons planned.
