We used a counselor, Lois, through Henderson a few years ago. We were very unsatisfied with how she behaved. My husband and I went to talk to her about external family relationships. She gave my husband leading questions, and pretty much turned us against each other in our counseling. And did not help us work as a team. I would not recommend them for privacy issues as well.

I’d give zero stars if that were an option. Avoid this place at all costs if you have ANY other options. Lois scheduled with us and then cancelled the day of, a couple hours before the appt. We rescheduled in a slot that opened up. I became ill the day of that appt and asked to reschedule. I was told the only option we had to avoid a $100 cancellation charge was to do a Telehealth visit. This was after I told them I wasn’t sure I could effectively participate in the session due to having a fever and severe abdominal pain. It’s hard to believe that they’re really looking out for clients best interest.

The music in the lobby makes me crazy, but the counseling services have really helped my family. I’m very thankful that they are so kind and always work with us on the scheduling.

I've had two counseling sessions here and after the second I was positive this wasn't the place I needed to be to get help. The first counselor I had was decent. I had a brief medical concern that took me down. I called in to schedule my second appointment and was scheduled with a different counselor. I asked who this person was because that's not who I started with. I was then asked by the very curt, unprofessional and judging receptionist, "Oh, she quit. Didn't she tell you?" Um, apparently not if I'm asking you who this new person is. I scheduled my second appointment. My new counselor is fresh out of the womb and has zero life experiences. The session was awkward. I thought I'd give her another shot, so I scheduled another appointment. However I'm horrible remembering business names. I wasn't able to make this appointment and couldn't find the number to call. My appointment came and went. No phone call, no follow-up. I've never felt like this was a good, safe place to be. It's as though they have team meetings at night and discuss all the "crazies" they saw and when that one comes in, the receptionist definitely lets you know how valued you are. My recommendation is, don't bother. You'd get better results from confiding in a stranger on the street than here. This business is what leaves bad tastes for future counseling. I'm praying that I find a practice that actual cares about their clients. One more thing! Your receptionist sets the first impression of your practice, including your values. The one you currently have is very unhappy and doesn't reflect that this is a good place.

Brought my son here after an issue when the principal of Centennial Elementary a few years ago when she started harassing him. She insisted he didn't need 504/iep, he needed counseling. Was very pleased with the service. They very honestly said my son was not in need of therapy as the principal had insisted. Gave us a letter to give principal saying he would not benefit from talk therapy. (moved him schools, got a 504=new kid.) I was pretty shocked because they really could have said he needed services and ran up the bill so very pleased with their honesty.

Gene Henderson has to be the most unprofessional person I've ever had to pay 600 dollars to deal with. What is it with people not doing their jobs any more? I have to coach her every step of the way just to get what I paid for. It's like going to McDonald's, ordering a #5 or whatever, and receiving a patty, then having to tell the cashier that you ordered a whole meal, which includes an entire sandwich, not just a patty, and then getting brought back bread for your sandwich, but no ketchup or mayonnaise or pickles or cheese or lettuce or anything else, not to mention the drink and fries you also ordered..... except it costs 600 dollars.

Extremely rude when trying to call to set up an appointment. Receptionist was very quick to dismiss my questions and interrupt me. Not good customer service for a place trying to help people who are struggling
