Teresa is wonderful! I came to her in the midst of a delicate relationship with someone who struggles with severe depression. I was on the path to fulfilling my lifelong aspirations in a healthcare career with years of sobriety under my belt. Even though I knew I didn't have it all together, I painted a beautiful portrait of what I wanted the world to see. Deep inside, I struggled with anxiety about my decisions and lacked the proper coping skills to work through it.

Teresa's guidance and support has been phenomenal. I made it through one of California's toughest nursing schools and became a registered nurse thanks to her emotional support encouragement. She is still providing her wisdom to me this day and has been hugely influential in my life as I navigate work stressors and a lovelife with someone I struggle to understand.

Teresa is always very punctual and communicative. She sends reminders for every appointment the night before and was always understanding when I showed up late or forgot. She does video visits which sometimes are easier to engage in when you can't bring yourself to see a therapist in office, but I did have the pleasure of meeting her in person and she was just as pleasant as she was online.

Teresa is passionate about her work, that is evident in the way she listens, responds and tries to relate to her clients. From our very first session she has made me feel comfortable and safe, sharing parts of myself I couldn't share with anyone else. I've never felt judged or embarrassed and that helped me share feelings I had kept hidden for a long time.

Being in the health field myself, I face a lot of struggles. We are compassionate people at heart and feel burdened when our efforts to help others fail or go unnoticed. There's a stigma about mental health that keeps healthcare workers from seeking help but that can be detrimental. Nurses, doctors, caregivers, social workers, etc.- we chose our work to help people, but this type of work brings a lot of emotional stress. It's important that we work through those emotions and talk to someone we trust, who understands our struggles or we could lose our ourselves as a consequence.

Teresa accepts IEHP which was wonderful while I was in school. She provided sessions at whatever frequency I needed and always worked with my schedule. She made herself available even in my moments of urgent distress and was a part of my ceremony when I finally finished school.

I truly feel that the Healing Hearts Marriage and Family Counseling is an absolute gem! If I could give a million stars, I would! I owe a great deal of my success and happiness to the support, wisdom, understanding and trust that I received from Teresa. Not all therapists are the same and I'm so blessed to have chosen her, everything I received from every one of my sessions is priceless and I look forward to a future with her invaluable counseling and support!
