I have been battling debilitating
Treatment Resistant Depression for over 30 years. I’ve tried dozens of treatments & medications to no avail.

Several months ago I was at a point l'd
come to many times over the years.
I couldn't take the pain any longer. I needed to see a therapist again,

My boyfriend was referred to
Glaser Burkhardt by another therapist. I thought he was going to do the traditional talk therapy.
Within 15 minutes of our first session he diagnosed me with PTSD. He told me I needed to treat the PTSD before the depression could be treated. He was amazing!! The first therapist is 30 years to diagnose me with PTSD despite me telling the others I thought I had it.

sessions over a 6 week period & all
PTSD symptoms were gone. I have not
felt like this, my old self, for over 30
years!! I have not felt like killing myself
or wanting to die since that last session in April.

I would describe my current depression as mild, slowly but surely subsiding week after week. I have not had a single day stuck in bed
paralyzed with pain unable to move or do anything since completing EMDR therapy.

Therapy is a process and Glaser is dedicated and professional during the counseling process. The challenges with reading reviews for counselors is that an angry ex will want to manipulate the therapeutic process and then write a poor review because s/he did not get his/her way. Oh gosh, where do I even start? Glaser is absolutely amazing. From his expertise to professionalism to attentiveness - he is exactly what anyone needs when they are going through a rough time. I struggled with PTSD from my childhood and a recent 5 year break up, and lets just say that Glaser put A LOT of things in perspective for me. Every single session I had (before I moved away) was extremely valuable for me. He pushed me to think in ways I hadn't thought before by using real-life exercises in session to giving me reading materials and home work assignments when I was walked out his door. Most importantly, he challenged my way of thinking and every time I thought he was going to agree, he asked me.. but why? Those "why's?' got me to the next level of answering pieces of my life that I had never got to the root of before. He is truly a God-send and I wish I could've brought Glaser with me on my move but obviously that is not possible. I just HOPE I can find someone as great as Glaser in the next journey of my life. If you are questioning whether you should go to Glaser or not, or you're contemplating a different therapist, I say give Glaser a chance because its one experience you'll never forget. Take it from the girl who drove from Cerritos to Riverside to see him. It was well worth the traffic! I am so happy that I was introduced to him because he lit a fire under my butt and made me realize that my life was for me to own, and I don't have to deal with things that no longer serve me. Glaser you are beyond what words can describe and I couldn't thank you enough.

Therapist zoned in on one person in therapy and even offered separate therapy for me but not for my partner. I felt that it was unprofessional and he did not help either of us. Looking else where for a proper provider.

Edit: A year after the original review the therapist has changed the comment to make it seem that he referred out to a drug counselor. This was never the case. To clarify he offered one on one therapy with just me and him and not myself and my partner. I felt that because we where there for couples therapy it was inappropriate to only see one of us on a regular basis and sometimes the other. The fact that a year later this provider chooses to change his story and response really shows how immature he can be. I will stand with my original review because it is a very true review. Now I just wish I could give him 0 stars.
