My two sons were seeing therapists at Gaia for a couple months and I received a vague report for each of them after asking multiple times. Once we received the reports of their progress after spending a couple thousand dollars with this practice, I was informed that our treatment would be terminated (on the day of a schedule session, I might add.)

When I called for more information about why, the owner of Gaia sent me an email stating she would speak to me at a $225/ 50 min. rate for me to have an initial conversation with her. She was able to speak with the kids’ other parent but not me. I was also misled about being able to access the kids’ information and billing information the entire time.

My minor child was seen for a few weeks for trauma based therapy and I didn’t like how the entire process made the parent feel very left in the dark. We have sought different counseling services that incorporate the parents regularly so that we know how our child is doing and what we can do at home to help which I feel works much better given this circumstance. We also had to wait for a month to get a summary of his visits which was not very detailed. Therapy costs a lot and I’m left feeling like I threw money in the trash as opposed to truly helping my child recover from a traumatic incident. The therapist Tamara was nice and the facility was nice as well except for the treacherous steps leading up to the building that were not spaced properly. If you like not knowing what’s going on with your child’s progress for months then this is place for you but if you are more of a hands on parent I recommend you seek counseling elsewhere.

Edit - The owner Christy did reach out to me and offered her apologies and sought to understand where the issue went wrong with this particular therapist. I definitely felt better after speaking with her and understand that maybe we just needed a different therapist to work with. Thank you so much Christy for caring to reach out and attempt to rectify the situation. ❤️
