Absolutely fantastic experience at the French Alpine Bistro. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch. Cozy French place located in basement cave that feels like you’re traveled to mountain chalet in Alps. High end feel but not stuffy or pretentious. We loved our mains - all on point Alpine dishes like Wiener Schnitzel, etc. server was super friendly. Highly recommend. One of our favorite dinners in Aspen.

The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was a little on the crowded side, specifically in regard to noise. They probably have the best French onion soup I've ever had. Be prepared, it is a bit spendy. Steak was cooked and seasoned just right. Gnocchi definitely was scratch made. They also have a wonderful selection of wine.

If you're in Aspen and craving French comfort food, French Alpine Bistro is a must-visit! The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the perfect cozy winter cabin vibe with its charming lodge decor — it truly feels like a mountain getaway. On a cold, snowy day, nothing hits the spot like their mulled wine, which was the perfect warm, spiced treat to start the meal.

For the main course, I went with the classic boeuf bourguignon, which was rich, tender, and full of deep flavors. The French onion soup was just as amazing—packed with savory goodness and a golden, cheesy top that made every bite a delight. Service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel even more special. Highly recommend this spot for a taste of France in the heart of Aspen!

We so wanted to enjoy the experience but the service always felt like an after thought. Love the cozy setting although we were right by the front door and it was very chilly as people entered/exited.
The French onion soup and fondue were very good. We never did get the schnitzel so can't comment on that. Kind of pricey for the experience.
Unfortunately probably will not return.

Ambience and decor were beautiful.
Not the best French onion soup I had.
Our kobe burger took 15 min to come out after we were done with the soup, but since we were sitting in front of the kitchen, we saw the bread was already laid out so we knew it would be cold. Would still love back to try other items.

This was the first restaurant that we visited in our trip to Aspen. The beef bourguignon and the steak and frites were amazing. Some of the best food I’ve had in a while. A little on the expensive side but well worth the taste. The vanilla bean icecream was a perfect finish to a good meal. The staff here are super friendly as well! There is a 20% service fee added onto every receipt. Parking is very limited. Had to go around a few streets before finding a spot 5 minutes away walking. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious lunch in a cute and cozy atmosphere.

French Alpine Bistro is the only spot I *have* to visit while in Aspen. The atmosphere, the service, and the food & drink are always top-tier. I've been many times and each time I've been fortunate to have Tomas as my server. He is beyond exceptional -- welcoming, kind, and informative. I like to try new things so, unless I'm craving something particular, I leave it up to him to pick my meals and my cocktails. He's never lead me astray. Some of my favorites from my most recent trip include the escargot, chicken fricassé, boeuf bourguignon, soupe à l’oignon, steak tartare, Midnight in Paris for food and El Amor, Beast of Bourbon (a perfect winter cocktail) and brandy alexander for drinks.

A special shout-out the kitchen staff -- especially the dishwasher -- who make magic happen in such a tiny quarters. I have no idea how they do it, but they do it so successfully.

What a delicious meal! The food here was incredible, and the cosy French atmosphere was really enjoyable. We were lucky to be seated at the bar as a walk-in group, and we loved being able to watch the chefs work in the kitchen.
