Not only was this my first surfing lesson, but it was also my first time in California and my first time swimming in the ocean was only a couple days before. Eli did a great job of going over every aspect of surfing, from getting into the water, to standing on the board, to swimming back out. His directions were super clear and he gave tips throughout which was really helpful. He’s also really good at reading the ocean and was able to push me into the wave and let me know when to stand up. It was really cool to learn from someone so skilled! I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d be able to stand up considering I’ve done paddle boarding in the past and struggled with it, but Eli made me feel super confident and I was able to stand up on maybe 5 of the waves!! I was super happy with that. It was my favorite part of my trip, but also one of the best experiences of my life. I would 1000% come back and recommend Eli’s learn to surf to everyone! I’m from Wisconsin so unfortunately I probably won’t get to do it again for awhile, but apparently Sheboygan is the Malibu of the Midwest, so who knows maybe I’ll check it out!?

I highly recommend Eli for surfing lessons. My 11 year old kiddo, who has zero surfing experience, caught a wave less within 15 minutes of the lesson starting. Eli is obviously experienced in teaching surfing, provided everything needed, and was very patient and chill with my anxious kiddo who is on the spectrum. Eli was patient, direct, kept things simple and to the point. The location was gorgeous and the conditions were great. I would absolutely bring my child back to him, or even do a lesson myself.

My daughter took a surf lesson this morning and had an amazing time. The waves were larger then what would be your typical first time waves but it was our only opening in on our trip so she wanted to try it anyway. Troy took excellent care of her out there. He knew the beach well and was able to read the waves and get her on the ones she could do. He was excellent!! She was able to stand up and ride two waves all the way in!! Very exciting!! Thanks for the great experience.

Eli is amazing! He explained everything so perfectly that we were able to hit the water quickly and confidently. I even caught a wave on my first try! Our family of 3 had the best time and Eli took great care of us from beginning to end ensuring we had an incredible experience. Would totally surf with him again!

Never surfed before and after two attempts I was up and going! I loved it so much I messaged Eli the same day after my morning lesson, and he got me in for an afternoon rip as well! Definitely recommend the 1:1 coaching. Eli knows that ocean so well, and ensures you are surfing instantly!

Loved working with Eli! Eli is an excellent teacher and pro surfer. He gave excellent feed back on how I can improve as a beginner surfer. I caught most of the waves because of his instructions. Will definitely book again when I come back to visit Laguna beach.
