When I decided to get back on ADHD meds & start taking better care of my mental health as an adult, I thought I’d try Blueprint as the only practice in Newnan listed on APA. They immediately recommended BJ for ADHD. Things seemed fine to start, but I was also new at this so wouldn’t have known if their service was the standard.

Turns out my hunches were accurate that my experience & the service provided were poor. It comforts me but also angers & saddens me to know I am not alone. As others have stated, there is an utter lack of communication between providers & patients, aside from scheduled 20-30 minute appointments. Also, there is only 1 doctor (according to the team listed on their website anyway) who can legally be writing & signing scripts so it’s odd that “medication management” is listed as a service provided by anyone but her.

The following account is just the most recent (& last after this review) of my prescription issues. My last appointment with BJ was around 1/10/25, and I had to hassle them to authorize my prescription, which was not filled until 2/4/25 by a Lisa McMath, MD. (Whoever that is because she is not listed as a provider or affiliate on their website or when I Googled her name. If she is the same person, it appears she is a PEDIATRICIAN based out of Peachtree City. I am a 37-year-old woman.)

At the end of January & beginning of February, I went on 2 trips out of town. In between each, I only had 3-4 days at home, which is when I had to call again about authorization. My prescription still wasn’t authorized even after I expressed the circumstances. Come to find out from the pharmacy, the prescription was placed on a hold until 2/8/25, which was coincidentally my return date. There was NO communication about this from the office so, while I was on vacation, I had to call to deal with their BS. From previous delays, I knew better than to reach out to BJ, my medication management provider who just tells her patients that the office handles all the prescriptions so we have to call them. So much for medication management.

Once again, waiting since last Friday for a script to be authorized and decided to write this review. Once I am done with this review, I will be calling back to leave a message to ignore/cancel my previous request & let them know I no longer require their services.

It seems the only doctor of Blueprint is more concerned with becoming a celebrated author & a TV doctor than with maintaining a quality practice, as seen by all the book & media endorsements on her practice’s website.

I love Dr. Nelson. She's warm and empathetic. She's also insightful in offering guidance in life. She's practically therapeutic in that she offers guidance on how to live life in spite of your condition. She discusses making tiny adjustments that have high impact.
As an African American woman, it can be difficult to find a mental health provider that understands your struggle beyond the textbook. Dr. Nelson has her journey as well. She draws on all her experiences to guide and support her patients.
I have been a patient for about 6 years and highly recommend her services to people of all genders and races.

I have been a member for 5 years. I went to blueprint because the VA took such a long time to get in. My experience was great for a few years, but lately things have changed. My provider is constantly late for appointments. I was paying for each visit because I was told they do not take insurance. Now after 5 years I found out they do take my insurance. Last appointment was a month ago and I’m still waiting on a prescription to be sent to the pharmacy. No answer from anyone. I’ve been off my medicine for over 5 days. As a Veteran with a history of mental problems since I got out, and a father to 3 very young children, it is very important for me to stay stable. I have always been respectful even when my provider is late every time, and having multiple prescription issues. I will absolutely pursue every avenue I have so that blueprint will no longer be able to treat the veteran community.

My experience was fantastic. They got me in earlier than my original appointment. I can’t say enough great things about Rachel. She made me feel like everything was gonna be OK. And that’s what I need… Someone who’s an advocate for me. Someone who’s willing to listen. Someone who’s willing to help. I went into my appointment feeling pretty good… And I left feeling like everything was going to be great and I have a plan to make it great. It’s gonna take time and effort on my part. But, anything good does not come easily nor fast.

The practice is nice, but it seems as though they have too many patients and not enough providers. We’ve been with this team for 5 years, and we are in the process of moving / switching providers. BJ is the worst with communicating and getting prescriptions refilled. The office also doesn’t let you know if they need something from you. Horrible communication.

Doctor Nelson is an angel right here on earth! She listens so intently and makes me feel heard and understood. When I have questions, she gives awesome mental, medical, personal and even spiritual answers and ideas. Dr. Nelson has been my Doctor for years and has helped me so much with various issues. The medication she has prescribed helps tremendously, but her rapport and kindness is what makes her such a special Doctor and one who I recommend highly.
