Everything outside of their science department is great. Their advising staff could use a refresher course on communicating as it seemed very abrasive and blunt. When asking questions you seem to be bothering them. The Staff outside of them are amazing. If I didn't know that the staff is amazing I would have walked out from their representation.

I completed an AutoCAD course and they said it would take 6 weeks to get the certificate. It's been 8 months and I don't think they're going to send it even after I contacted them about it 4 months ago. I called them again today and they said they don't even know what I'm talking about.
Update: They finally sent it to me with a rude message that they had already sent it. I checked my email and they hadn't.

This school has terrible communication and seems completely indifferent to their students needs. It's nearly impossible to reach the financial aid office every time you call, you're directed to voicemail, and they never return your calls. The staff overall are very ignorant and unresponsive. You have to constantly push for answers, otherwise, you'll be left in the dark. I strongly recommend looking for a different school to avoid wasting your time here.

The diverse student body is at the heart of what makes CCA such a strong institution. It’s my final year and my overall experience has been positive.

However, one area that stands out is the way both myself and fellow students have had to confront and push back against the ethnocentric and revisionist ideologies that sometimes surface in course content or instructor perspectives. Glorifying policing and military forces is a common theme I’ve had to address. It overlooks the significant harm and destruction, caused by both on a global and local scale.

While the institution fosters a supportive environment, there is still room for growth in addressing these issues directly. Awareness and understanding of the experiences of the diverse cultural and ethnic student body is imperative to creating a more equitable experience and learning environment.

I'll give it 2 stars because the professors I've had were wonderful. The customer service in registration and front desk...Stellar. But...the Financial Aid office is a joke! The receptionist and the student was so into playing love connection, they disregarded and ignored other people waiting. The rest of the Financial Aid staff hid in there offices because they simply don't give a damn.

I really love this place! I think most colleges (in my experience) deal with the mundane and complicated process of financial aide. I rode the department just like I would any school application process and my stuff was handled. Its never perfect but it works. I took responsibility for my experience and my processing. I've loved 9/10 teachers and specifically LOVE the small classes and mix of students. There are people from all nations, military, disabled, young , old- you name it. With only one poor professor experience (she was new) I report all the professors I've had were professional, accessible, and well educated in their field. The funny thing is people here saying they will go to CCD , I hope they know MOST of the faculty that works downtown also work at CCA. (The life of adjunct professors having to make ends meet by teaching at multiple colleges in the city) My favorite part is the LOW cost and easy parking. Why pay for the same professors for a higher cost and then fight downtown traffic and exorbitant parking fees? No thanks, its just an associates degree...you have to transfer anyway!

I don't know who they have over the financial aid department, but the last semester i attended this school, I attended as a resident. After the semester was over, but before the new one started, they added non resident charges to my account, and I did not even attend that semester. I did not know this until they had taken my taxes and I had to find out why. They are also trying to collect money from my husband for Spring 2020 semester that he didn't even attend. What the hell is going on over there? We talked to one of the financial aid advisors and they were supposed to take care of it, but never did, and now we are still receiving indebtedness letters.
