This is Lenyce giving a review. I oves this school and so do my parents. While I have been here I have progressed rapidly joined CAP and flew my first plane at 12 years old.I am an A student and I’m very proud of this school. The teachers here are kind and nice and I would never imagine myself going to a new school!

We love this school! My kids have thrived here without common core and all of the teachers they have had the past 2 years have been fantastic. My only complaint would be the pickup line after school but that's mostly on the parents who don't read how it works. All of the front staff and staff upstairs have been accommodating and friendly. I am so thankful we found this school. Most of the bad reviews are from when this school was new and figuring things out. Give it a chance!

For being dubbed a "military academy" it is utterly disorganized. Apart from select teachers, this place is a disaster. The school puts announcements out SUPER late (e.g. the Christmas concert was announced wicked late and the TEACHERS didn't even know it was going on). They cancelled school for "high winds".... huh? Granted there was a high wind warning that day, but in no way did it warrant a cancellation. The teachers are utterly disorganized with their communication, curriculums and homework structure. Is puts off the impression that everything is organized last minute. Pick up coordination is awful. The front office is unbelievably off putting. The pre-school allows tablets to be used and the room is a disaster, disorganized and my child has told me that the teacher "yells" frequently. It is clear that education is beyond the capability of this school and I would not recommend that anyone consider bringing their child here.

My son attended the 2018 / 19 school year. He has improved greatly over the year because of the guidance a caring teacher. Never had a problem with the Administration or any of the other teachers. I do wish the kids were allowed to play on the playground first thing in the morning to get some of those morning Jitters out. Sometimes recess was taken away from the whole group due to one person's actions and I don't like that. Kids shouldn't have recess taken away. They absolutely need that time. I believe their play time is just as critical as their educational time. Other than that we had a good experience.

I have 4 boys that go to this school, and we love it so far. This is their first year. Looking forward to what lies ahead. I noticed the negative reviews are old. Sounds like there was some cleaning up that happened. Mrs. Lucero has been great, and teachers have been helpful so far.

Like any new school, there will be a growing period. Through this time the school has had several open houses, town halls, parent teacher conferences, and is willing to listen to parents concerns. This school is definitely headed in the right direction. There are so many supporters that want to see this school, its programs, and the Cadets succeed. There are not many schools in the country that have the ability to teach their students to fly. My 7th grader has already flown twice this school year.
Every school will have its issues with bullies, troubled children, and nay sayers, but like every school, you get out of it what you put into it. That goes for both Cadets and their parents.
The commandant Colonel Roberts is doing a great job leading this school in the right direction.

We love CMA and I can’t thank them enough for the discipline, structure and encouragement they have given my kids.
My high schooler was skipping class at Palmer and because his grades were never affected they never called me. CMA was recommended to us and I enrolled all of my kids thinking they were going to hate it. My senior has discovered his leadership skills and enlisted in the Air Force with huge dreams that he never imagined having before this. My 7th grader is discovering how much he loves to challenge himself both physically and mentally and begged us to enroll him into the Civil Air Patrol. My 6th grader is Autistic and receives everything available to him for support as well as extra attention because the classes are smaller and my 5th grader has come out of her shell and learned that she is way smarter than she thought because she gets the attention she needs to learn the lessons given. No organization can ever be perfect and there is always room for growth. CMA is great school.

This school is VERY unorganized, unprofessional and unacceptable! They were definitely not prepared to open up this year and I am VERY disappointed that I enrolled my child in CMA after having such high expectations for them and here's why:
1. My kid ran out of lunch money so they refused to let him eat or call me to bring him some then had the nerve to hand him a brochure on how to load money on his account. (My child cried and came home starving)
2. The child care director uses profanity and belittles/yells at the children. She tells the kids that they are "pissing her off", told another parent when I was not present that my child needed to be "tamed", told me that she was on her 3rd bottle of wine for the week because of the kids, said the word "BS" in front of them and was over heard talking about "kicking someone in the nuts." I've called multiple times and left messages but still have yet to hear back or see anything done about it as she is still working there.
3. 1 1/2 month into the school year, I receive an email stating that my child's teacher doesn't even have a Colorado Teaching License.
4. It is now October and the cafeteria just got its equipment to serve hot lunch. Also, they serve toddler like portions. Animal crackers, yogurt and a cheese stick is NOT enough to fill up my almost middle school aged child. (Don't believe me, look at the school menu online) One day while eating with my kid, I asked his friends about the food and they said they were ALWAYS still hungry after lunch.
5. They don't have a playground yet so the kids play in the parking lot for recess.
6. My child has NEVER received a failing grade until attending this school and when I emailed to scheduled a time to meet with his teacher, I was told email works best.
7. My child got a busted lip and had to go to the nurse twice and I didn't receive one phone call to notify me of what happened.
8. A staff member told me that due to their lack of funding they were shorted on their checks and expected to work at a minimal rate until they figured things out. As a result a few teachers have already quit.
9. They send out an email every month telling parents to apply for free/reduced lunch even if we know we won't qualify just so they receive additional funding.
10. A staff member told me that no background checks were conducted on teachers prior to the start of the year and that degrees were never verified.
11. On my kid's last day of school before I transferred him they made him stay in the office the whole day, never called to notify me and did not let him go to the dance after school so when my husband picked him up he was in tears since he didn't get to say bye to his friends.
12. Birth certificates and immunization records were never verified. When I brought it to their attention they said legally they were still within the window to check them.
13. My kid told me the music teacher stepped on a child's hand on purpose and made him cry because he was touching something that didn't belong to him. Then when another child was going to touch it, he said, "you want me to step on your hand too."
14. A staff member told me a teacher threw something at a child once for not listening.
15. They never follow up with you, return phone calls, or inform you on what's going with your child.
16. They refused to return the rest of my child's school supplies stating that they are "community items" even though I paid for them less than 2 months ago and had everything labeled. They weren't cheap either seeing as how they requested brand name items, headphones, printer paper etc...
The list could go on and on...
What they are doing should be against the law. I'd hate for anyone to have to go through what we are seeing as how we have had to come out of pocket lots of money, wasted tons of time, undue stress etc...
I will be notifying the Board of Directors, the District, the Charter Institute and the news if I have too because this is just wrong.
