This review is strictly for the billing department / Bree Ashurt, head of the billing department. FUTURE AND FORMER PATIENTS BEWARE!!!!

Before this year, I had no bad things to say about California Therapy Solutions. I frequented the Irvine location two years ago when I had knee surgery and was able to receive the care I needed through wonderful physical therapists and their assistants.

Despite receiving care two years ago, I recently received a letter in the mail about a balance due. It stated that I owed a total of about $1,500 from my appointments. I thought this was strange, considering the Irvine location helped me with understanding my copays and even celebrated with me when I didn’t have to pay my copy anymore! I called the Irvine location to confirm with them that this bill was outstanding and I was referred over to the Costa Mesa location where Bree works.

I gave them a call, left a message, and didn’t hear back. So in the meantime, I contacted my previous insurance to ask them about the payments. As it turned out, my insurance had paid IN FULL! TWO YEARS ago! I waited for Bree to call me back, as I wanted to give her the appropriate time to gather information to reach back out to me.

After no response, I called the next morning at 11 and got into contact with her, only for her to tell me that she got my message and was going to call me after her lunch. She told me that she took a look at my patient profile and that it was accurate — that I owed $1500 to the company.

When I told her I spoke to my insurance and they had proof of payment on their end and my patient profile end, she snapped back at me and said “that’s impossible, because we didn’t get anything. Who did you speak to?” She even laughed! I calmly told her that I spoke a representative yesterday and she demanded a name and time at which I called — as if she could reach the same person to argue with, instead of just contacting the insurance company to speak to them? She quickly ended our conversation and said she would get back to me when she was able to contact my insurance.

Lo and behold, I get a call not 10 minutes later of her snarky attitude and a fake apology of how the billing department messed up and it was a mistake on their end. And get this —- California therapy ended up OWING ME money. She said she would get a check sent out to me, confirmed my address, and ended our call.

A month later, the check never came. I called back and asked to speak with her - the receptionist asked what I was calling about and she put me on a brief hold. She told me that Bree was there but that she (the receptionist) was the one to continue helping me out. She said she was looking directly at the check in her hand and it said it was returned to the sender.

So not only did she have my phone number, my correct address, my email, and the check returned to her, she didn’t want to bother sending me the money that the company owed me due to overpaying. So not only did they fail to contact me, Bree decided I wasn’t worth talking to, so she had the receptionist take care of it. Mind you, they had already sent me a bill to the SAME ADDRESS when I allegedly owed them money.

When I apologized to the receptionist for my frustration, I asked her why I wasn’t contacted and she responded with “honestly, I have no idea. I couldn’t tell you.”

I gave her a different address to avoid anymore issues and went on with my life. I received the check last week, it looks like the billing department got one of the numbers wrong. Make it make sense.

I would refer my friends to CTS for any of their PT needs and tell them about what a wonderful experience I had, but this whole situation has turned it sour. I can’t imagine how often CTS’ billing department has gotten away with scamming their former patients (especially the older clientele they have) into sending them money for bills insurance has already paid for. Will never come to any CTS establishments or refer ever again.

This my second therapy experience with California therapy solutions. I had intense shoulder pain and my Dr. Sent me to physical therapy. When I arrived the pain had lessened greatly. I thought oh no this will be a waste of time. Kristin assured me that it was not a waste. It's better to catch this early, rather than later.She was so right. Not only did she pinpoint the sources, she gave me exercises to strengthen my shoulder and neck. She answered all my questions and watched to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. After 6 weeks , I am standing stronger and straighter. I have exercises to carry me through and hopefully avoid future pain. Their teamwork is professional and cooperative and I enjoy every moment, yes even when it hurts cause I know it's gonna get better and it totally has.

Today is my first experience with California Therapy Solutions for issues with both of my ankles. Thanks to Kristin and Nathan for their professionalism and courtesy to new patient. I was provided with instructions for multiple exercises to help with my problem. The little leg and foot massage given by Kristin did also help. I totally recommend this place.

So thankful for everything that Kristen and her team have done to help with my knee problem. They are excellent professionals, very attentive and friendly. Before treatment I was not even able to sit down without pain. Now, I can exercise and I was able to start running again. Super satisfied with their service.

After fully dislocating my left elbow from a jui jitsu accident on November 13th, 2020. I thought my arm would never be the same nor would I ever be able to train martial arts.

Today marks my last day at physical therapy (April 26, 2021) and I couldn’t be more pleased that my arm is completely back to normal.

Kristen & Ashley are great examples of going above and beyond their calling to provide care for their patients. I was always pleasantly surprised by their willingness to help with insurance and scheduling to fit my needs.

Expect to be met with kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism of the highest caliber.

I will be back here if I ever injure myself again.

The entire staff is very pleasant to interact with here. They stay on schedule so I don't have to wait for my appt. I am so happy with the results I'm getting! My surgeon says I am doing better than he expected. Also, they are right off the 405, with plenty of parking available.

This staff KNOWS what they are doing. I have spinal stenosis. Evan is very knowledgeable of the problem and how to treat it to provide me the greatest relief from pain. I get such GREAT relief from his massage and exercises that are tuned specifically to my exact problem. When I recently had a torn meniscus, he was able to adapt my exercise routine to continue to bring relief to my back, while compensating for my knee. And now that I am also recovering from the meniscus repair, and under his therapy for this issue too, my recovery has been expedited so I am able to walk again, without pain, in a very short time. Thanks for providing the care and expertise you do. I can strongly recommend California Therapy Solutions as a solution to anyone with serious pain.
