So unorganized, the Atlanta organization has tarnished BBBS reputation for me. I have now completed orientation twice and got an application the second time around (first time they used IT changes as an excuse). I got asked to fill out the application several times the second time around despite having completed it right when I had received it. Now no communication. Very very disappointing for this organization.

The way I've barely been able to get in contact with anyone at this office is beyond me. I was assigned a Specialist, but she doesn't return my phone calls, emails or texts. I've called the main office several times, at different hours of the day, have only been able to get someone in the phone twice. The second time was to dispute a charge for the background check, that was supposed to be covered by the organization. At this point, I'll most likely just pull my application and try a different organization that caters to the youth, because this has not been a great experience so far.

The lady at the front desk is unreasonably rude. I arrived to the location with some questions for the property and the lady asked me the obvious question of who I was looking for so when I answered her she got annoyed because she was asking obvious questions. I’m sure this place offers wonderful service so don’t let the rudeness of someone back having a bad day turn you away. It was Tuesday about 12pm so maybe someone can address her. She wears glasses and had on a green dress.

Organization isn't as efficient as need be. 2 Big Sisters, well vetted, I was TOLD QUIT two days before my twins' birthday. Cuz I suggest they take them, on my dime to a new place for their birthday. One worked for MAYORS OFFICE. Gave Xmas gifts, nothing in return fir my 10 yr Olds. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

This organization denied my application because I’m pregnant. They told me I could reach back out to them 3 months after I have the baby. No thanks! This isn’t my first child but they apparently no my life and body better than I do. They must not be in need of mentors that badly. They should probably say upfront before they have you fill out an application and attend orientation that pregnant woman are not allowed. Or if you are pregnant don’t disclose it. Never again.

What an unfair organization. I applied, got accepted, was matched with a little. I tried numerous times to get in connection with my little, but was unsuccessful. After trying and trying, I get an email stating ā€œ This letter is to inform you that we have begun the closure process for your match with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Please note that it must go through a thorough closure approval process and approval is not guaranteed. This process can take 2 weeks to a monthā€.

I have yet to hear anything back from them.
And this was a in 2017.

I feel that I should get the money that I paid back.

This is a great organization to help youth, but need some help with operations.
