During my stay at Austin Oaks hospital I was well taken care of by the staff. It is a place that provides a safe, nurturing environment. Everyone I dealt with provided supportive and compassionate care.
The only negative experience was in the food that was served. I felt there weren't enough healthy foods like fruits and vegetables and the distribution of "ultra- processed" snacks at some periods of the day could have been replaced with something like an apple or banana.
The psychiatric staff seemed to be attentive to my needs and the needs of others.
I was pleased with the encouragement of the staff to participate in group meetings and the structured time schedule was focused on providing the necessary support of the people being cared for.
My experience was as enjoyable as it could have been under the circumstances. I would certainly recommend Austin Oaks Hospital to anyone who needs psychiatric care.

I was well taken care of.
Nurses and techs were simply awesome!!
The NP psychiatrist worked with my current Dr and therapist - all 3 were exceptionally concerned for my emotional/mental health and all worked together to get me to a stable place to move on to my next step in IOP recovery.
Thank you to all in Unit A

I had a 102 dollars plus some change to my name. They took my clothes, my cash I had and basically rid me of everything I had to offer the world. So thank you for teaching me nothing I already knew how to cope and putting me through the ringer and making me realize I am alone in this world. I appreciate the fact that you have to give everything you own in order to survive it was apparent here. I will never thrive because of the backlash of the employees except Logan. Logan was a good man if anything I want the 100 dollars stolen from me to go to him if it is found. He actually listened to my story on my terms and that's all I could really ask for in life at the time. Hats off to someone who cared me and didn't take advantage of his position in fact I'm changing it from a one start to a three to not upset the dynamics of what they are trying to do here. They have a lot to learn.

Facility was filthy. Had a bloody paper bag in my intake room. Without telling me, they changed the dose of my medication. No one seemed to know what was going on, and it was stressful trying to get information. I did not get the help I needed at this facility. I would not recommend going here unless absolutely necessary. I would recommend Rock Springs instead. Austin Oaks was a pretty terrible experience.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do not send your loved ones here. Sustained recovery is not the aim here. If I could I would give zero stars. My poor loved one was discharged ( which they were well aware of into a hotel room, thousands of miles away from home) with no discharge plan, guidance or support, only to have a major relapse 24 hours later. The website says ‘relapse prevention’ - not TRUE! I could see how unwell they were when picked them up. I was not allowed contact with the psychiatrist in all their time there. Family are not deemed a critical support in recovery. Visiting twice a week only in a room like a prison. The Clinical Director should be held accountable as the entire leadership of failing vulnerable patients. They lied in my loved ones discharge notes leaving off critical diagnosis notes!!! The only positives are the caring nurses, doing a difficult job under toxic leadership. Austin Oaks please don’t reply to this with your laughable standard reply’s to say “you are concerned to read this please write to us” If your clinical director cared that much they would not be failing patients’ in this way. Austin Oaks should have full review from the authorities. In my view it should be closed down!!
**EDIT *** I never said I didn’t want a response - please read my review properly!

Mixed bag. Some of the therapists gave me some really good resources, and I would recommend this facility if you're really in crisis. However, during my stay, I witnessed a fellow patient faint hard and likely concuss herself on the tile floor, and no tech or nurse gave any sort of concern for her possible head trauma.

A very rushed stay. My son supposedly received 2 injections for his illness. His behavior is worse than ever since home 2 days. It would be nice if there was at least a follow up call. His prescription in envelope was not explained, also there was supposed to be list of housing in the envelope that wasn't there
