They hire instructors who are there for the hours and nothing else, the instructor in our case was let go for x reason. When they found a new instructor, the new instructor wasn’t happy with the foundation set my previous instructor and instead of accepting any liability they dumped the fault on the student. The first instructor demonstrated unsafe behaviors and lack of knowledge which makes me question the integrity of this school considering they have their own DPE and only do internal hiring. I will be making a safety report with the FAA. At $350 per hour, I would find myself an experienced instructor that does it for the love of aviation, not to fast track hours on your dollar. When asked about basic and essential aviation subjects some of the answers were “I don’t know, look on YouTube”. I feel bad for anyone that gets caught in this situation. I’m sure there’s good instructors there, but when you pay $350 per hour, I don’t think it should be gamble. Good luck, on your search. take your money elsewhere.

ATP (Centennial Location) treated me very well. I was a student of the 100hr multi program and came in credit private. I finished the program after getting my Single Engine commercial add-on. I was very satisfied with the how quickly I was able to get all my ratings and training done. The instructors I had were great! They were patient but stern. It is important to understand that this career really is not for everyone, but remembering to breathe and take things one step at a time worked wonders. Along with studying with other students. The general culture of the student body was fun and encouraging. Becoming friends with the people around you really is the best way to succeed in ATP.

Something else worth noting. Many students didn’t know that the 100hr Multiengine program was a thing, so allow me to explain its purpose. It is to help you gain more experience in a multi-engine aircraft. It is useful for early employment as a pilot, as many survey and skydiving jobs require a certain amount of multi-engine time and experience. Not to mention that at ATP, during the crew phase of training you are allowed to go fly in more congested areas than if you were just flying the Cessna or Archer. So for those looking for more Multi-engine time, I highly recommend this program.
Thank you so much to everyone at Centennial who helped me along the way!

This program is great but it isn’t for everyone. You really have to understand what you’re getting yourself into before signing up. Is it perfect? I don’t think anything is. If you’re looking for someone to hold your hand and teach you everything, ATP isn’t for you. If you’re not good at setting high goals and setting your own schedule, then ATP isn’t for you. If you are extremely driven, don’t need someone checking in on you everyday, able to fully dedicate yourself, set your own study schedule, learn on your own, and do it as fast as possible, then ATP is for you. It’s a lot of hard work and those who fail and rate ATP poorly are usually the ones who are attracted to the lifestyle of being a pilot but aren’t willing to put in the countless hours and sleepless nights to actually achieve this dream. ATP gives you all the resources, great resources for that matter, but it’s on you to learn it. Instructors help you in the air but the majority of vast information you must learn comes down to you studying the material. If you’re looking for a classroom setting then go to a four year college program. This program will get you through fast but are you willing to dedicate your entire waking life to becoming a pilot? I was and it was the best decision of my life. (Currently still in the program but about 60% through. Private Pilot, instrument rated working on commercial)

ATP (Kapa location) are top notch at getting their students through the program. Is it hard? Yes. They give you the instructors and opportunity to be successful if you put the work in. Don’t let the negative reviews sway you if you’re ready to choose a flight school. Again this isn’t an “easy” program, it requires hard work and focus! I’m a 40 year old married father of 3 and got through it! Safety is a top priority with ATP and new planes means planes are safe and always available.

Absolutely trash program.
They give zero fox about their students.
Even less about their employees.
Avoid AT ALL COSTS.

You're the only mass producer of pilots, basically a monopoly. Unless someone has the wherewithal to grit through a part 61 program then ATP is the only option.

I'm just curious if you tell students about the lodging situations and other headaches prior to them committing a six figure loan to your corporation.
Abandoned apartment buildings, shared with other students, jammed like sardines, no travel accomodations ($100k in loans and can't even pay for a rental car for a few days?)
Then students have to find a DPE for their check rides. How most (granted, not all) DPEs are crochety old timers who take advantage of your system. The students take a significant loan from you, which you give to the DPE, who then fails the student and charges the student for another check ride.

Oh, then your employees. NO expenses paid trip to Florida to sit through some death by power point all to dangle a $30/hr time building "opportunity". Airlines needs pilots, ATP profits, and gives zero cares about their employees or students.

Finally.. 25k graduates in 38 years? Oof....

ATP is a great flight school. The program is intense and moves quickly, but as long as you do your homework and put the time and effort in, you should have no problem finishing your ratings. I would, however, temper expectations for how quickly you will finish the program. ATP likes to promote the speed at which you'll get through, but due to delays beyond ATP's control (usually), the program will probably go a bit longer than you expect. Weather, plane maintenance and DPE availability are the biggest factors in slowing down your track. The resources ATP has are excellent and they really do almost everything they can do to assure your success. Overall, it's a great program.

If you want to get through all your ratings as fast as possible and need the financial aid, ATP is worth a look. They push you through very quickly and you have to be on top of your game to make it. Choose your location carefully - paying attention to weather as that can greatly impact the timeline.

There are plenty of places to get your flight training - bottom line is that ATP is expensive, fast paced, but it works. Cooperate & Graduate
