Acknowledging you need some support and then finding the right person to help, can be a tough. But I want everyone who is looking to know the peace that comes with working with a professional like PJ. The faith based approach is not over the top. In fact, I would call it “modern.” Applying all the best stuff about Christianity to my unique needs and hopes. I’ve grown with his help. We’ve figured out some things I wasn’t sure how to navigate. My stress is down, my faith is up. Laughing is a big part of my day again. I’m productive and happy with a great focus on life. It feels good to look forward to things again. Although I know the “hard” work is on the patient to do, but PJ makes it something I look forward to, instead of kind of dreading appointments. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he has one of the best dogs in the world. She makes it fun to get a little self help. Thanks PJ! I sure do owe you a lot.

PJ was so thoughtful and understanding. GREAT to be able to "use" him as a sounding-board for navigating an increasingly dark and confusing world. He is able to bring his disappointments and experience to apply to contemporary situations. He is not rushed, yet very deliberate in sharing what is most helpful. I love talking with P.J. Stohlmann at Arising Hope Christian Counseling. I wanted to find someone who would pray with me and had a Christ centered focus for our sessions. PJ is wonderful to talk to. I've grown so much in our time together. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

My experience with PJ has been life-changing. He is an incredible listener and wise beyond his years. He recommended an anger management book and worked through it with me. PJ and the book have totally changed how I think about situations that used to anger me. I call him my anger coach rather than counselor because it sounds cooler, but also because he is so much more than your typical counselor. He brings real practical faith-based ideas to the table to consider. 5+star all the way. Thanks again PJ!
