UPDATE TO ADD: Read this agency’s response to below review… apparently no one documented (or they don’t remember) that I told them I was a blind client, and that they told me their online patient portal system was inaccessible to blind people. Did not receive follow-up phone call as stated by executive director, will definitely be reaching out to other organizations instead. Very, VERY disappointed.

Contacted them in October to inquire about new client availability. Was told there was a 2-6 week waitlist, which I elected to get onto. I was told they would call me once space was available, but I contacted in November and early December multiple times with no response. Finally got a hold of someone in mid-to-late December and was told that I needed to “keep waiting.” Got in contact with a clinician in early January who stated he would attempt to get me into their program, but haven’t heard anything since and am now under the assumption they will not be taking me on as a client.

Very disappointing experience, since I for a good recommendation from a find and I would have probably done extremely well in an animal-based therapy program. But due to the lack of communication from their offices it seems like I won’t be able to be admitted. I’ll likely continue looking for other practices who are accepting new clients, since now I’ve been without regular therapy for about three months and I can’t sustain that with my diagnoses. I’d circumstances change later, I may try again, but I do value my time and efforts involved and it’s disappointing I can’t even communicate with them after I leave multiple voicemails that go in-returned.

In short, if you do plan to look into their service, be prepared to wait for an extended period, and don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back after several attempts. I’d you need services quicker than that, just look at other programs—it’s not really worth the time to keep trying it.

This was exactly the course I was looking for! In Sweden, this line of work is filled with dog instructors and I felt alone being a psychotherapist longing for more knowledge in depth in this area. The course gave me exactly that, and also an opportunity to reflect on my therapeutic work, and important ethics involved in this area. Now I have started my own education for collegues in Sweden, and I could not have done that without the knowledge I got in this course. Thank you so much!

I also felt supported using english as a second language which was difficult for me.
