I'm currently a student in the Cohort 52 PACE program at the Tacoma location of ANEW. We will be graduating next week and I have appreciated this program more then I can express. They did not just teach me about the trades, they helped me find a career path, taught me so much, and helped with life outside of class. I would recommend this program to anyone. It's insane how much this program gives you without the worry of debt. You just have to be willing to put in the work and show up. I truly appreciate how much this class has given me, there is no other program like this out there. I've learned so much and met so many amazing people. My instructors were Alina and Kevin. My math teacher was Ade. These 3 were absolutely the sweetest people you'll meet and the best instructors. I have never had such great instructors throughout public school and college. I loved my class and my teachers <3 they should be given a million and one raises

I’ve completed the ANEW Pre-Apprenticeship Program, and I can confidently say it was a game-changing experience for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the construction trades.

Over the course of several weeks, we were exposed to both classroom instruction and hands-on training, which helped build a great foundation of knowledge and skills. The instructors were experienced tradespeople who brought real-world insights into the training, and they were always willing to answer questions and offer guidance.

One of the highlights for me was learning how to properly use tools—skills that are essential but often overlooked if you're trying to enter the field on your own. The safety training was also taken very seriously, which gave me a better understanding of the responsibilities and expectations on a job site.

Beyond technical skills, the program also helped with job readiness. We had sessions on resume building, mock interviews, and even some support with applying to union apprenticeship programs. I left the program not only with more confidence but also with clear next steps for entering a registered apprenticeship.

If you're serious about starting a career in the trades but don’t know where to begin, I highly recommend this pre-apprenticeship. It bridges the gap between interest and opportunity—and gives you a head start in a field where hands-on experience is everything.

This program’s been awesome! The instructors are super helpful and make everything fun. Kevin’s honestly one of the easiest people to learn from. Alina was always there when I had questions, and Ade made math feel way less intimidating. Super chill vibes all around 10/10 would recommend

I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience with ANEW, a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities. Their commitment to providing resources, support, and guidance is truly inspiring.

I'd like to extend special recognition to Getu, who went above and beyond to assist me in obtaining my CDL. His expertise, patience, and encouragement made the entire process seamless and stress-free. Getu's passion for helping others is evident in everything he does, and I'm grateful for his support.

ANEW's programs and services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, and their team's dedication to fostering personal growth and success is unparalleled.

If you're seeking a reputable and compassionate organization to support your goals, look no further than ANEW. Their impact is tangible, and their commitment to making a difference is genuinely inspiring.

Thank you, ANEW, and thank you, Getu, for an outstanding experience!

I’m currently halfway through the PACE program and I’m having an absolute blast. The amount of resources these folks offer is mind blowing, from helping with transportation to helping with work boots, all the way to offering resources to help folks with sobriety. They offer multiple certifications to help your resume. They help you write a resume that will catch attention. They even offer mock interviews with people from the trades to help you practice and build confidence. Being able to share information with peers looking to get into the same trade I’m working toward getting into is wildly helpful. The math teacher, Ade, goes SO above and beyond, along with my coordinator, Alina, and instructor, Kevin. Truly amazing folks. All of them. If you were ever interested in getting into the trades but were worried about how you’d be treated based on past history, race, religion, age, or identity, this place is for you. Their inclusivity is absolutely inspiring.

I'm enrolled in the PACE program at ANEW at the Pierce county location, but from what I've seen of ANEW as a whole, the instructors are great people who will patiently work with you to help you understand different tools used in the construction trades and they will help you with skills needed to pass interviews as well as tell you stories about their experiences in the construction trades.

They also help you get certified in OSHA 10, flagging and forklifts.

The people attending the program are great too and fun to get to know.
