I want to commend the therapist who has been helping my uncle. The progress he’s made through EMDR with your team is truly amazing. We’ve noticed significant improvements in his ability to communicate with the family. I’m more than happy to recommend your services to others. Special thanks to Ms Chelsea Elliott for being an incredible therapist. With sincerest appreciation.

Had my first therapy experience here. My therapist was very easy to talk to and helped me work through my personal issues. Getting therapy here was easy so I encourage anyone who is debating it to give it a shot. The telehealth option was very convenient and worked for me well. I'd use them again, especially if I can get the same Therapist.

Horrible Experience – Would Give 0 Stars if Possible

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this office. I called to inquire about a specific type of treatment (EMDR), but the office staff was completely unhelpful. They didn't know anything about their therapists beyond their names and couldn't answer any of my questions.

I was told to fill out an online form to schedule an appointment, which I was reluctant to do. I wanted to ensure that the therapist had experience with the specific treatment I needed, but they insisted that after submitting the form, someone would call me to answer my questions. The form itself asked for sensitive information like my date of birth and insurance details, which felt invasive given that I hadn’t even confirmed the therapist's qualifications.

Someone did call me, but she seemed annoyed by my questions. She insisted on booking an appointment the very next day, and when I asked more questions, they hung up on me mid-conversation.

Later, I received both an email and a text message notifying me that I had 48 hours to cancel the appointment. I called several times to speak to a manager, but the staff could only submit a request for a manager to call me back within 48 hours. When I requested to cancel the appointment, they told me that they could only “request” the cancellation and warned me there might be a cancellation fee—despite the fact that the appointment was booked less than 24 hours in advance.

It’s clear that this office is more focused on billing insurance than actually helping patients. I even reached out to the therapist they assigned me, Guadalupe Gallegos, but never received a response.

This office’s policies and treatment of patients are terrible. Be cautious if you decide to work with them.

I was having a hard time finding a provider that accepted my insurance but A Place of Growth did and got me set up with a therapist. The customer service was just okay but my therapist, Tina Karimi, was absolutely amazing! She made me feel seen and heard and I felt completely comfortable to share my thoughts and feelings with her. I could go on and on about the great things but her but to sum it up I’ll just say that I truly have nothing bad to say about her and she made my therapy journey much easier.

These people are terrible do not waste your time. They will lie and say that you are covered, go as far as giving you an invoice saying you owe nothing, then without any heads up take the money from your bank account. Whoever runs this business has no care for the clients. My therapist was nice enough but it seemed like they had to stick to a script and I feel like no matter what I had said in the session they were just going to give the same generic “homework”. If you are like me it may be a hard thing to even try and go get therapy and going to this horrible business is extremely discouraging and harmful to the process.

I’ve seen four therapists through A Place of Growth. 3/4 of them were not the best fit for myself or my situation however I did finally find one that is just right for me! I do think you need to take time making sure your therapist fits you and your needs & Im thankful I got assigned to Tina! I recommend a place of growth to everyone who says they need therapy, I do also advise shopping around and making sure you select the right therapist it makes your experience so much better 🙂

I initially was very excited to begin therapy and hopefully find the right fit under my insurance but much to my disappointment I was met with a broken record therapist that simply said "I am the lowest form of care" and proceeded to try to baton me off to an even lower form of care, and insisted it was "extensive higher care" THE ARETA CROWELL CENTER and the other listed centers she provided is not a higher level of care, it is merely a center of overworked and burnout therapists serving severe populations (homeless and drug addicted) I began an outpatient program for my depression & suicidal history at the Healing Oaks Center and was hoping my therapist Jasmine Lister would work alongside my psych (which is what she referred me to anyways) but unfortunately I was met with the same apathy I have seen before.. unwillingness to sit and work with a patient. I do not recommend this place, seems they just want to bill insurance as oppose to help, like all she could ever do or want to do is "refer" which is really sad, but I'm not going to give up just because I'm met with the same poor subsidized help.

It was quite a long time since I had been to therapy, and the process of finding the right therapist always felt exhausting to me but I was ready for a healthy change and knew I needed to put in the work.

Mary McWalters was nothing but kind and made me feel very comfortable and confident with her approach to my needs. She was attentive, provided me with amazing tools for me to work with in order to help with my traumas, and overall a great experience for the year I was at APOG. The waiting area was secluded from the public which I found to be nice, and any time I would cross paths with other therapists in the hallway, they seemed personable and kind.

If you’re seeking therapy for the first time or returning, I would give APOG a chance. I appreciate the time and effort Mary put into our sessions and the comfort I felt returning on a weekly basis.
