Fabulous mixed media art workshop with Kathy. I learned so much, and she thought of everything to create an encouraging, nurturing, creative space. I'm leaving our 3-days retreat feeling rejuvenated, restored and ready to continue creating more art.

Even though I’ve been a fine art painter since 2012, as well as spearheading a brand design office for 4 ½ decades, I decided I needed to jump start my creativity once again and took Kathy Leader’s “Mindful Mixed Media & Collage” workshop. There was a variety of levels for all the participants from beginners to seasoned professionals and everything in between in this ½ day workshop. I came in with a beginner’s mind and left with great value, inspiration, and freedom in the process. No matter what level you are as an artist OR if you’re someone who doesn’t think they’re an artist, Kathy will ignite your creative spark. I’ll definitely return.

I recently had a Saturday workshop with Kathy and thoroughly enjoyed learning her process oriented techniques for abstract art collage. Her intuitiveness and mindful play really resonated with me. I’ve been exploring abstract art lately and I just was so enamored with the simple thoughtful and creative ways that she taught her techniques, her calm and experienced voice made it all the more interesting. I’m sooo glad I took this workshop!

It's not often I use the word "dreamy" to describe a workshop, but everything about the Art Process weekend with Kathy Leader was perfect. Despite falling and breaking my wrist 5 days before the class, I was determined to attend. I recently met Kathy through a friend and had the opportunity to visit her home and see her artwork. I loved every piece. The CAW warehouse is Santa Barbara is a perfect location, the other participants were focused and friendly, and by the end of two days everyone left with pieces of art in progress or taken to completion. We spent one day preparing papers for our collages, and the next day, selecting, arranging and painting. It was a welcoming, safe environment where everyone had a positive experience. I will definitely sign-up for her Spring 2022 retreat. Barb Cronin Hershberg

Wonderful retreat!! Kathy's workshops are a great way to tap into your creativity. With her guidance I learned a lot about collaging and using my intuition which has helped me in other areas of my art journey. Looking forward to another retreat soon.

Kathy is a fabulous art teacher. She is incredibly warm, patient, supportive, and encouraging. My friend and I booked a few private lessons with Kathy to celebrate our birthdays and we absolutely loved the experience. Kathy was very professional and followed all Covid19 protocols; the entire time we all were fully masked and working outside in her sunny studio. It was fantastic; I can’t recommend her enough! A lesson with Kathy is a lovely gift to treat yourself, or a loved one, either in person or online. I look forward to framing my piece and admiring it for years to come.

Kathy really opened up my mind and helped free up my artistry which I can translate into other means of creativity whether music, decorating, or gardening. She also made it very comfortable to be bold, follow one’s first instincts, and experiment. I also loved working in mixed media and collage which I haven’t done since I was a child! It was also a very therapeutic experience! A good thing for one’s mental health!
