So grateful to have had the privilege of attending yet another superb, enlightening and invigorating dog (and people) training seminar offered by The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation, Nov 8-10 2024. Sean, Marta and the entire TGD team made this a event memorable through their authentic caring for dog owners and trainers alike. Looking forward to attending their shadow program in 2025!! HIGHLY recommend TGD for their no nonsense, real-world, actionable experience and guidance!!

We have had wonderful experiences with The Good Dog trainers. They are kind, relaxed, and superb at training owners as well as dogs. They did a fantastic job with my daughter's Shiba Inu, not an easy dog to train, and with us; he is now an incredibly well behaved service dog for her and goes everywhere with her, including to school. The trainers have always been responsive and helpful since the original training whenever we have had a question or issue to solve. We have a new puppy destined to become a therapy dog in my psychology practice, and I am about to start training for her and me. I've had 10 dogs in my life and worked with numerous trainers in the past; I wouldn't have a dog now without The Good Dog's help.

Listen, this is legit! I have a crazy husky whom I was extremely concerned about with running away. He stayed with these good people for 5 weeks and he’s a different dog in a good way. I did my research and looked around for a board and train and the various places I reached out to within and around the panhandle did not seem like a professional fit. The good people at the good dog actually care about animals and their wellbeing. I could strongly sense it & they are extremely professional and your fur baby will get the help they need. Any dog I have that needs help in the future I will fly, drive to where ever they are based on this experience. Don’t waste your time or money elsewhere. Go to the best of the best! Period.

My experience with The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation Program had more negative aspects than positive that I believe are important to share.
The hospitality provided by the program left much to be desired. From the beginning, there was a noticeable lack of warmth and attention from the staff, which unfortunately changed the overall mood. This lack of hospitality made it challenging to feel fully welcomed and engaged throughout the program.
One significant concern was the disconnect with the host of the program. Communication seemed lacking, and as a participant, it was challenging to establish a meaningful connection with the host. This disconnect affected the overall unity and sense of community, which are crucial elements of such programs.
Additionally, during the training sessions, I primarily interacted with the trainers' staff rather than the host. While the trainers demonstrated expertise and professionalism, the absence of direct interaction with the host left a notable gap in the overall learning experience. It would have been beneficial to learn directly from the host, who presumably embodies the program's vision.
My hope is that by addressing these concerns, particularly in terms of hospitality and host-participant engagement, it could significantly enhance the overall participant experience for those in the future. Unfortunately for me, these concerns I expressed left me feeling the desire to leave early and not complete the program. I share this review with the hope that it contributes to the continuous improvement of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation Program. Constructive feedback is vital for growth, and I trust that the program organizers will consider these points for the benefit of future participants.

My pit-bull was super aggressive. He had major reactivity issues. He growled at everyone that came into the house, he had to be locked away during visits. He hated if people looked at him he would throw a huge tantrum and wanted to nearly kill them, at least that's how he would act. He attacked my husband and it was traumatic for the both of us. He was a huge liability. We stopped walking him as we no longer could handle him. After the good dog he completely changed, he's now respectful, calm, obedient, and damn near perfect. The good dog was worth every damn penny. It feels amazing to be able to prove everyone that doubted him wrong. Many told us to put him down many said grown adult dogs can't learn new tricks, I never listened to them. He's amazing now I'm so thankful for the good dog. He walks in a perfect heel, ignores old triggers, obeys commands, he's damn near perfect! We learned so much and realized that we were doing soooo many things wrong, Sean and his team schooled us for sure! Being a good dog owner is no different than being a good parent. You don't want to be your kid's "friend". You want to teach them about consequences by simply "correcting" them when they make poor choices. This sensible training technique is taught at The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation boot camp and it's well explained in Sean OShea's book, THE GOOD DOG WAY. The book and boot camp teach you how to deescalate a frightening situation or an aggressive behavior by addressing the early warning signs (loading) with corrective tools and techniques. Following the boot camp, we are finally experiencing our happy dog in a calm, quiet state of mind. These simple, but priceless training exercises, (ie thresholds, crate, structured walk, food permission, and duration exercises), is like "one stop shopping" because he teaches both the dog and the owner how to achieve that calm state of mind to make better choices. His Permission Based Training techniques addressed all my dog's aggressive behavioral patterns. No one recognizes our serene little dog meditating on her yoga mat, that once ran everyone off in a state of anxiety. Thank you!

We brought our 2 dogs, a Frenchie and Cane Corso, to The Good Dog, after their fighting terrified us that we'd have to split our dogs up or that they or we would be seriously harmed. Dino, our Cane Corso, is a giant rescue dog who had trouble with anxiety and fear of other dogs. Meatball is a crazy Frenchie... very possessive and aggressive towards Dino. It's been almost 5 months since our training, and I have to tell you that this is the best investment we ever made for our family. We can all be at home in complete peace now, and they act like brothers. They cuddle, play, and generally let each other be. Even more so, it's amazing to be able to walk around confidently with our dogs and know they won't react to other dogs or crazy bystanders. I wish I could tell everyone I see whose dog is controlling them on the leash or being aggressive to go to the Good Dog.

The Good Dog quite literally changed my life. I cannot say enough amazing things about their knowledge and expertise. I had one of the toughest dogs most people would have just put down, but TGD got him to a place where he could be safe in the home and in public. They also taught me how to be a better owner for my dog. Forever grateful.
