I am absolutely blown away by my experience here. The Therapist and Therapists in Training are absolutely professional, kind-hearted, intentional and inviting. Their sliding scale has been so wonderful and helpful as well. I highly recommend Life Practice Counseling Group.

Fantastic people here, my therapist is James & if you have ever dealt with mental health professionals before you know how hard it is to find a good therapist. He's perfect at his job. I leave after each visit feeling so much better. They serve Medi-Cal Blue Cross members so my therapy is covered 100% too. & for those who don't have a compatible insurance, there is a sliding fee scale based on income. The lobby is so relaxing. Wave machines & calming music & free hot herbal tea. Extremely comfortable furniture. I've almost fell asleep out there a few times!

I went and saw an associate mft named La Tisha Lintag. La Tisha looked nice from her picture online and she was asian like myself but after our first session I could tell it was not a good fit and she wasn't skilled in handling my deep issues that I needed help in. During my session, La Tisha invalidated my feelings and was very serious, showing no emotion and was very dismissive towards my feelings and I felt she wasn't really listening to me and that she felt bored during our first session. It was disappointing because I had hoped that she would be a good fit for me but I left our first session disappointed and down and didn't feel heard at all. The low cost was nice and it's nice they offer these low cost counseling options to low income families and individuals . I came from a middle class family and am lucky to be well off and never had to struggle and always got what I needed. I can afford a real LMFT but wanted to try out this asian therapist who looked Hawaiian herself, and also the price was definitely a lot cheaper and half the price I usually pay to see a licensed therapist. So why not give La Tisha a try!
Unfortunately, I feel the supervisor running this place, (Carissa Sherwood), who is a fully licensed LMFT, really needs to train her associates better who are all earning their hours to get fully licensed.
Overall I'd rather go and pay the extra, which I can luckily afford to find a real LMFT and psychologist who is actually licensed. I'd say look elsewhere for your therapist! It's not worth it here.

Life practice, has saved my life. My safe place.I do, and always have. Marched to the beat of my own drummer.
My life preserver, my defibrillator. My real life Yoda, Explained it beautifully. People, most “normal” people, don't understand me. And she helped me see, that's OK. Shoot, I didn't understand me, I until recently, was a chameleon, trying to blend, fit in, be “normal.” I was a puppet, my actions were scripted, my vocal chords, like, “Fargo.” My father's dog severed. I was, dubbed. A puppet, my bondage. Dysfunctional, and unraveling. I have been. Punished, severely for noncompliance. In my darkest hour, I was again, reduced to groveling, begging……. Again. My puppet shows final curtain, came to and, in turn, saved my life on,
July 1, 2015.
The journey has been painful, torturous, life affirming, and I felt every single emotion. I will offer this advice, the only thing I know to be irrevocable in fact. There's no pill, vaccine, booze, or drug. No Band-Aids for grief. I did the work, I took this opportunity to get well. For the first time in my entire life, I can authentically say, I'm not a prisoner. OCD isn't the boss of me, anymore.

I really enjoyed this place. For like one session until I found a new place closer to my home. But I was very disappointed when I asked for a letter for the court stating that I took a session here and I still have not received any such letter. It's been a year now since I've asked TWICE for that letter, both times being told it would be sent

Emailed them twice and it has already been a month with no response. I wish they gave me a chance. I was recommended this place because it's cheap and I don't have insurance.

Nicole here is very very rude. Wouldn’t let me speak, didn’t care what I had to say and cut me off. Not a good experience at all. I’m glad my son never ended up seeing her.
