So much for promoting themselves as a caring place! I've met up with TWO employment coaches so far and none of them were able to assist me effectively! The first one lacked to provide any kind of structure and the second one couldn't bothered to offer other alternatives and preferred I take the traditional route for jobs when I have circumstances preventing me from taking that route. They just provided resources to places I've already tried that didn't work. They also assumed I was able to find work just because I already have a degree. I'm sorry, but it doesn't work like that.

For those who need of jobs, I encourage to turn to Vocational Rehabilitation. This place is clearly a conservative place that can only help those who abide to tRaDiTiOnAl norms.

Thanks for turning those who really need the help. Award for the worst employee service place goes to...!!

This is not posted under my real name due to unrelated issues. I was denied financial assistance services as a veteran according to a representative because i was not able to provide a city of Houston bill. According to my landlord, they could only provide a managing service bill contractor and not the water bill from City of Houston because it would show the entire apartment complex water bill. Now I face eviction and this holiday is really gonna be horrible. Not only will my daughter miss out on gifts, i will likely lose my housing voucher, have an even more difficult time finding an apartment that take evictions which will likely be in the dumpster of this city, on top of battling severe mental illness. So thanks for blowing us off.

Didn't make it to scheduling my first appointment as the receptionist who answers phone call inquiries has such a terrible, condescending attitude. If that's the way this place runs their establishment, I'm not interested in stepping foot in there as I can already imagine the type of service I'd be getting. 0/5 - hard pass and would not recommend.

I scheduled an appointment here with my son hoping to get help and a diagnosis for him. The provider Jenna Gimmler canceled on us TWICE at the last minute. I take time off from work to meet these appointments and my son misses school as well since they can’t ever seem to have appointments after 2pm and won’t reschedule him for over a month out! It’s very unprofessional and upsetting. Will be seeking services elsewhere.

I have been receiving counseling services from here for a couple of years now. First for my son and now for me. Our therapist, Jorge, is amazing. He is very professional and smart. He really cares and explains everything so well. He takes notes so that every time we meet, he knows exactly where we are. It's been a true blessing for me. He also helped my son to learn how to deal with his anger and my son really enjoyed his time during therapy. At first he didn't want to do therapy, but at the end, he missed his sessions when it was over.

Ms. Judy Vo is amazing, compassionate, a great listener, and makes an effort to care for as many areas of your life such as physical health, relationships, well being, etc. I got great information from her on job leads, job searching tips, affordable health care resources.

I cannot say enough about Family Houston! I would highly recommend it.

This is an amazing place. It has been a wonderful support of my recent diagnosis of MDD. It is has been very hard to stay on my medication or my self-care plan but they have been very supportive of that. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone who is in need of mental health assistance.

I started going to Family Services of Greater Houston about 4years age after a almost successful suicide attempt for counseling and I really didn't expect much because I had been to many other places and had thought that it was STUPID but it didn't take me long to figure out that this place was a whole lot different from anywhere else I had ever been before. My counselor was awesome. She was caring, kind and empathetic. It wasn't long before she had me opening up and if I couldn't get something out she always knew just what to do that would bring me out again. It's an amazing place for people who need help mentally and they have lots of other Services too, like Financial services and more. It's almost endless how much help you can get there. I highly recommend them for the service they are to the community.
