If you work hard and learn quickly this school will get you your CDL for a pretty decent price. There were a few problems for sure though.

Communication with admins was sometimes an issue, lots of important emails weren't sent out. Getting a confirmation of a test day was also difficult and had to be moved several times, but that had more to do with the testing center than Carter themselves.

The instructors were useful resources. Most of the learning came from more senior student teaching newer students however, which resulted in a lot of bad habits being formed when it came time for the test, especially in the pre-trip portion.

Drive time was pretty lacking for one reason or another. Of the 120 hours I was there, about 110 hours was spent waiting in line to get in the driver seat. I also only got about 20 minutes of practice on the road with a trailer before the test, luckily I still passed but it was way less experience than I needed to feel comfortable. I brought this up to multiple people two weeks before my test, but pretty much everyone just shrugged their shoulders.

I got to go to this school at a heavily discounted rate, and would have recommended it as the budget option for that price just because you have to go to a school now to get a CDL. I would not say full price is worth it though, there are better options around.

Great place to obtain your CDL, the owner is on site everyday out there teaching you everything you need to succeed. Matt is very patient and a solid man! He honestly cares and you can tell he wants everyone to pass on their first try. When it came time to take my test I felt ready. You get back what you put into it! If you listen and are willing to learn and put the effort in there is no reason you should not pass. I passed my test on the first try, all credit to the knowledge he passed along to me. I asked a million questions and he always was patient and informative, something I do not think I would have gotten from another truck driving school. I recommend this place you will not find a more down to earth person to learn from!

Definitely the best school I have seen. They are very respectful, very understanding and really works with everyone who may need financial assistance. I had a scholarship that only paid 1500 for school. Today I went to orientation and they lady had already found extra funding for me. I love them already

Great school. The Class B program was quick, but I learned all that I needed for my CDL test and I passed on my first try. Shenika, Matt, Terry, David and Justin were all fantastic to work with and learn from; everyone was always willing to answer my questions and show me what I needed to improve upon and how to go about doing so.

Make no mistake !!!
The school is short sighted and money targeted! Trainers don’t comply with professional code of conduct, they are unfit and unethical. Lacking adequate trucks and tools to do the job. Trucks are often flawed which result in unnecessarily prolonging students’ course completing time.So inefficient and incompetent. School administrators even turn deaf ears on feedbacks once they receive full payment.

When I decided to get my CDL I called multiple schools in Denver and it was so hard to find one that would work with my schedule after talking to multiple schools none would work for me and my situation I also called Carter school and left a message for them. At the end of the day I was feeling down and was second guessing my decision to get my CDL. The next day I got a call from Carter school and that call was one of the biggest blessing that I could of asked for.After talking with them they were the perfect match for me they offer night classes for those who have to work and are very understanding of situations some students might have. Mr and mrs carter are truly a blessing from God the school is awesome I did not know a single thing about semi’s even less on how to drive them but there school helped me so much to understand them and also learned a lot about the safety side of things miss Carter is really big on making sure that after you get your license you keep it and never loose it and making sure that you get home safe after every work shift after the in class school you move on to the driving training they have very good and experienced trainers also shout out to Matthew carter who took a man like me who never set foot in a semi all the knowledge And confidence i needed to overcome my driving obstacles they did everything they could to make sure I Succeeded I know for a fact no other CDL school would offer that it felt like a big family there and now with there training and school I found a very good job driving so for anyone looking for a CDL driving school I would highly recommend carter truck driving academy east Decision I ever Made thanks again mr and mrs carter

Enrolled in the school. Have prior truck driving experience down south. But everybody was very helpful in class and on the yard. Matt was out there every day helping with students. VERRY Patient man. Lol. Thank you guys so much. One week after obtaining my CDL. I was offered a position with a nation wide company for $94.000 a year. Woohoo. Couldn't of done it without you guys.
