Really enjoyed riding on this trail from Aspen down to Woody Creek on our non e-bike bikes. Wish we had had more time to ride even farther. Really enjoyed the spring fed water fall and the views of the river from this Rail-Trail. Parking was $8 at the public lot next to the park and trail head.

We came over to check the Rio Grande Trail out as it's the course the Aspen Marathon is ran on. What a stunning trail, especially the part near town. This trail runs all they way up through Basalt along the Rio Grande River where the Marathon ends.

One of the finest trails I have been on. Nicely groomed in the winter with grooves for XC Skiers. Pretty views in most sections. Some sections get shade at different times of the day, so figure our what best suits you for your time of day/year. Much more open sun down below Carbondale.

My wife and I were here for my birthday. Beautiful October day! I highly recommend this ride along the river. So many great places to stop and take photos. My only suggestion is to rent an ebike. We don’t bike a ton and that extra little boost from time to time would have been nice. I’ll be back!

Perfect trail for biking. Great road condition. We had pedal-assist bikes so were able to bike for a long time. But regular bikes are fine. Spectacular scenery of Aspen countryside. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Rent an E bike and have some fun on this trail. Breathtaking views of the mountains and water. If you’re lucky you’ll have the jets fly over you from Aspen airport.

Definitely recommend this trail for beginners wanting to bike! It’s a very beautiful paved path. We started the path from woody creek to Carbondale. It’s the most scenic biking I had done!
