Very scenic and enjoyable trail. Hiked it on s July afternoon and it was hot but not unbearable. Morning or evening would be more pleasant. It was 3.6 miles round trip. We did the loop clockwise and the mountain views at about halfway were gorgeous with most of the very little uphill hiking over with first. Many wildflowers and also nice meadow views. It hasn't rained in a while so it was very dusty. Good trail for kids used to hiking but probably not great for mobility issues as there is some uphill. It's a smooth dirt track however so a jogging stroller would probably be doable.

This is beautiful loop trail. If you start clockwise it is an easier trail & the view on the backside is absolutely amazing. The shrubs, pine trees against the mountains with the clouds & blue sky is a gorgeous sight.

There were beautiful blue birds flying all around us. The grasshoppers had black wings that made them look like butterflies.

I do more of a stroll enjoying the scenery than a hike. This trail had a lot of uphill climbing. If you start counterclockwise you will get a better workout because the path has a constant slight uphill climb.

Amazing views of distant mountains on this moderate, dirt loop path trail with some strenuous altitude gains. Would be useful to have frozen water, sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats during the warm, hot months. You will not need hiking boots for this terrain. No bathrooms at the trailhead, so prepare ahead. Mainly hiking trail but some bikers use it too. If you are in great shape hiking at high elevations, this could take you 1 hour. If you need to stop and breathe and take pictures, it may take 2 hours.

Love the Coyote Hill Loop. I prefer to mountain bike it in a counterclockwise direction. This gives me a longer more gradual climb and a very fast and steep descent. The trail is in great shape. I would rate it as a blue.

This is a beautiful hike with views of the San Juan Mountains. My kind of hike, exactly-meaning a nice dirt trail loop and moderate rolling hills. A great variety of vegetation and flowers, too.

Beautiful hike with gorgeous views of the mountains. Took about 1.5 hours. I'm not in very good shape and with a couple short breaks and taking it slow at times, it felt great when I was finished.

Fun hike! Beautiful views are the mountains. Easy hike, a little over 3 mile loop from the parking lot. Iā€™m sure it would be awesome for cross country skiing or snow shoeing in the winter. Lots of pretty wild flowers all over as well. Saw deer 3 separate times while we hiked.
