What an amazing experience! Mindy is very knowledgeable about her horses (many are rescues) and shares stories about their intriguing history, currently in the beautiful area of Yosemite. The views are spectacular! The ride is based on each person's skill and comfort level making it relaxing or invigorating depending on a person's desire. She works fabulous with children and families. If you like horses and are in the area, I highly recommend a ride with Mindy! Very affordable too!

We had an awesome experience with Dreamor Ranch! Billy was a great wrangler and very personable. The horses were well behaved, which hasn't always been the case with other trail rides that I have been on. I would definitely recommend Dreamor Ranch for trail riding.

Took my daughter for her birthday (9) to go horseback riding. Tina was the heavy lifter. She worked so hard. Got all our horses saddled. Was so sweet to my daughter when she got scared. Tina was an absolute gem and this should all be her gig. Mindy on the other hand was a train-wreck. The actual owner of the horses was able to insult every person in our group multiple times from beginning to end. As she couldn’t get through a sentence without being sidetracked about a story about her cats (which no one cares about). A person in our party got bucked off a horse halfway through the ride- and Mindy was continuously mocking her because of her headache-a likely concussion from her fall. (Side note: Mindy also wanted to put our 13 year-old on the horse that ultimately bucked the adult off) Another person in the party dropped a rope from his horse. Mindy decided it was more important to argue with her co worker instead of deal w the problem. Lets just say- by the time we got to the look out point for the group picture- we weren’t Interested. We needed to go, and stopping was not an option. Mindy couldn’t “read the audience” at all. Still wanted to stop to give random horses “cookies” as we rode. Insisted we weren’t leaving until we waved for the picture.
This is not a place for kids. And not anyone that is less than a 4 out of 10 in horse riding experience. If yelling at a lady who thinks she has a clue what she’s doing and likes to insult you- with zero action plan if there’s an emergency or injury- this is horse ride for you! Otherwise. Just get Tina to take you out because she’s the real deal…oh hopefully the 1 1/2 hour drive to the place and the 1 1/2 hour horse ride didn’t make you have to use the restroom- because there are none! There should be a matrix for knowing better before you take your kids on a horse ride. Well unfortunately there isn’t, but hopefully this review saves you from dealing what my family went through. The one star is for Tina-because you are the star and you deserve better.

I’ve taken a good many trail rides over my lifetime. Dreamor Ranch is a true cut above the norm.

Mindy has beautiful, well cared for rescue horses who are thoroughly screened for health and behavior issues. Hooves maintained by skilled farrier ( I notice these things).

Well maintained and safe tack

Friendly and supportive staff, welcoming even the most inexperienced riders as well as riders with challenges (disabilities). Each ride is staffed front and back. Staff is first aid trained.

Before Mindy puts someone on any of her horses, she takes about 30 minutes to assess the guest’s skills, concerns, and considers the unique attributes of each of her horses. That way she can best match rider and horse, ensuring the best possible outcome for all participants.

Riders travel quiet country roadways to well maintained trails on National Forrest lands.

This is not your pony ride in a circle. Mindy’s rides are a true experience with breathtaking views, friendly, highly experienced, and knowledgeable staff. And the horses? Beautiful!

Don’t miss visiting Dreamor Ranch. Work up an appetite then visit the cute restaurant in town. It’s a win-win!

Heck! Mindy even provides bottled water!

So much fun! They explained how each horse came to the ranch, matched horses with riders based on comfort levels, gave us safety equipment, then we were off. Walked on the road for a little bit before heading into a national forest, the views were beautiful. The horses know the trail and they know which hills they like to run up.

This was by far the best trail ride I have ever been on. I highly, highly recommend choosing Dreamer Ranch if you are looking to book a trail ride near Yosemite.

Mindy was a great guide who is really friendly and knowledgeable of the area and horses. She obviously is very passionate about the horses. The horses were all responsive, and very well mannered. You can really tell Mindy puts her heart into training these horses. You can see the connection she has with them when she introduces you to each horse and she tells you their life story.

The trail she took us out on was absolutely beautiful with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and peaceful scenery everywhere you look. Mindy gave us history on the land and the town. The experience was personal and I absolutely loved it. Not commercialized at all. Mindy took pictures for us and shared them with us so we could just enjoy the ride.

The drive from Yosemite Park to Dreamer Ranch was also very beautiful. It is about an hour, so you will need to plan for that, but it is well worth it.

If you are looking to ride horses near Yosemite, your search should end here. Book this ride.
